Description

While it might seem like a simple game, basketball at the NBA level is an ever-evolving phenomenon. To some, pro basketball is all about an image - how you look on the court and how good you look when playing. To others, the NBA game is all about speed - crossing over a flat-footed defender and initiating the fast break for the finishing slam. In basketball, it takes offensive precision and determined defense to capture the victory, and no video game takes all the excitement and realism of the NBA to the next level quite like ESPN NBA Basketball.

ESPN Basketball

Strengths: Good ESPN presentation, solid gameplay

Weakness: Older game so graphics not as advanced

ESPN/Sega Sports is the way to go for basketball games. Very good gameplay and is very fun. This game since its older can be found very cheap now. Well worth the price.

ESPN rocks

Strengths: -Solid Gameplay -Loads of fun -GREAT graphics -New mode called 24/7 to build up your character

Weakness: -Announcers get on my nerves

I went out and bought a bunch of sports titles on the cheap because I have never owned any - figured it was about time. With the price depreciation of sports games, its worth picking the ESPN titles up. This one in particular is AWESOME. I mainly bought them to play when friends are over, but the 24/7 mode in here is almost RPGish. You can build up a player from scratch and challenge other...

ESPN NBA Basketball for the PS2

Strengths: + Another solid entry in the great NBA2K series that began it's life on the Sega Dreamcast + As always, better than NBA Live + ESPN presentation is great

Weakness: - Too many easy steals/blocks, etc. - AI leaves something to be desired

ESPN NBA Basketball 2K4 for the Playstation 2 is part of the legendary NBA2K series, but under a new guise. The ESPN presentation not only adds itself to the title, but to all the game menus, overlays during play, score ticker, and most importantly, authenticity. It makes it seem even more like you're watching a real basketball game with additions like these. The graphics are outstanding, and the...

Authentic 5 on 5 basketball and More!!!

Strengths: + lots of different modes, create a player, street basketball (half court, full court, 1 on 1, etc.) + nice graphics

Weakness: - not enough control over how you shoot the ball - the backgrounds are kind of bland - complicated controls (making a free throw is a pain)

I'm not a big sports fan, my last basketball sim game was back in the 16-bit days for my Genesis, but ESPN Basketball is a fun game to play. The best part is all the different modes of play. If you get tired of playing the season mode, there is also a street basketball mode and you can play one on one, etc. It's not quite as exciting as other arcade basketball games but serves as a great...

ESPN NBA Basketball PS2

Strengths: Good graphics

Weakness: May not be easy to control

This is a very decent basketball game. Good graphics and sound (considering the releasing time.) It is just like the real game: it moves FAST. At the beginning, I had problem deciding which player I want to pass the ball to, because everything just moved so fast. Gradually I could improve a little bit. For a fan of NBA, I would recommend to try this game since most retailers have this one on sale...

ESPN NBA Basketball

While pro basketball fans have spent the off-season wondering what impact LeBron James would have on the new-look Cleveland Cavs, PS2 hoopsters spent their time wondering what effect the full-blown ESPN-branding would have on Sega's perennially strong 2K basketball series. Well, just as it looks like the Cavs are ready to take it to the next level thanks to King James, and Sega's ESPN NBA...

ESPN NBA Basketball

Antoine Walker is still on the Celtics. There you have it. That's what's wrong with ESPN NBA Basketball. Okay, there are some other things too, but nothing that stops it from being crowned the king of the courts, the cream of the cream of the crop, the best basketball game of the year. Besides, that's what online roster updates are for. This is one of those games where the more you play, the more...
