Tak and the Power of Juju

Strengths: Easy platformer, fun for kids

Weakness: Same old stuff

As others have said, this Tak title is no different than any other platformer out there (Jak, Sly, Ratchet). Nonetheless, it is a fun platforming game that does the job of entertaining the kids and providing some laughter for them. The game isn't difficult by any means and can be beaten in just a couple of sittings. If you can find the game for cheap, go ahead and pick it up for the kids....

Where have I seen that?

Strengths: I like the jungle designed levels which lends some variety in the gameplay.

Weakness: It doesn't break the mold of platforming games and just recycles what we've seen/played before.

Tak and the Power of JuJu is a good game and I thought it was quite fun and sometimes got a chuckle. Judging it solely on its own, Tak is a great platforming game. The levels are huge and detailed. There's a lot of variety like using your blowgun to shoot at animals or riding on a rhino to break down gates. But if you were to compare it to other games that have been released, I'm not so sure...

Good Platforming for the Cube

Strengths: Grahpics and Sound are great.

Weakness: Laggy and sometimes hard to control.

Tak is a kid-oriented platform/adventure game that misses more than it hits. The sound/graphic quality is very impressive, minus the occasional lag in framerate and annoying enemy yelps. But the principle of the game is way too simple and dumb-downed. While the different levels are quite large, the controls are sluggish, the puzzles are uninspired, and the enemies are relentlessly annoying. One...

A fun platform title

Strengths: Fun and fairly easy. Script is good

Weakness: A little short, no subtitles

Overall Tak was a pretty funny and interesting game. It was a little quick on the playthrough although not too bad. The voice script was good and the graphics were alright. My biggest problem with the game (and a few other games that do this as well) is that there are no subtitles to what the character is saying, so if you don't catch what they said, then you're SOL. Other than that, I think the...

Nothing extremely special

Strengths: Unique weapons and powers

Weakness: Generic

This game is okay. I would say you might want to rent it if you are thinking of buying it. It is different, and the fact that you can interact with the animals in the game is cool. The game does have different powers and weapons which you can look forward to getting as well. This game just didn't hold my interest as long as other games. I liked it when I first got it, but stopped playing it...

Tak and the Power of Juju

Strengths: Easy and simple to pick-up and play. Awesome graphics and good variety of game-play.

Weakness: Story-line is very childish. Game-play is complex for younger players.

This is a nice relaxing game to play. Several clever puzzles and some good humor. I really laughed at the idea of catapulting sheep with trees! Progression through the levels is sometimes confusing as no clear path is displayed, it is important to listen to the story and follow the clues. The various sound clips of the main character are funny but a bit repetitive after a short time. A basic...

Tak and the Power of Juju (ps2)

It's looking to be another big year for action/platform games, especially on the PlayStation 2. While we have the big hitters like Jak II and Ratchet & Clank, third parties are doing their part as well, with THQ bringing us Tak and the Power of Juju, co-developed by kids' network Nickelodeon. As that might tell you, Tak has inherent appeal to the younger set and basically does a good job of...

Tak And The Power Of JuJu

With the holiday season looming ever closer, developers are trying to get their games out upon the masses first so they can get a big slice of that holiday pie. THQ has recently released a platformer by the name of Tak and the Power of Juju. While it has a lot of interesting ideas, the bottom line is that it is a perfect game for the younger crowd, but older gamers will definitely find this Tak...

Tak and the Power of Juju (ps2)

The platform genre is overpopulated with friendly, wise cracking, furry critters all too happy to partake in lengthy collect-a-thons. With well-known names like Mario, Sonic, Wario, and Crash Bandicoot constantly seizing the headlines and newbies like Vexx, Vince, or Ty overlooked because they follow too closely to the generic collect-a-thon model, it's risky for companies and gamers to invest in...
