Game Boy Advance SP: Onyx

Strengths: Portability, Mario Games (only available for Nintendo not for SONY and MS), Bright LCD screen.

Weakness: I haven't found anything yet, but the game packs are more expensive than I thought. I now buy some at ebay.

I've heard many people complained about battery power. I usually play 1-2 hours a day and re-charge the battery after playing. I have no idea how long the battery can go if you play continuously. Small unit has built-in re-chargeable Li-ion battery that doesn't have memory effect; that is, you can re-charge the battery whenever you want. LCD display is pretty bright and I have no problem for...

Game Boy Advance SP: Onyx

Strengths: Battery life, built-in light, price

Weakness: Not able to use ordinary rechargable battery

My son has been playing Gameboy since its first generation. It is getting better as it evolves. The A+ is that it now has the built-in light. I was always concern when he was playing in a low light environment and he did not like the bulky attached light. Now he can plays under the sheet when he is supposed to be sleeping. The only drawback is when the battery pack reaches the end of its life, it...

Game Boy Advance SP: Onyx

Strengths: smalll. portable. long battery. light!!!

Weakness: possible to end because Playstation Portable coming soon...

it is the "last of the moycans" from nintendo. It is a wonderful game console, very small to have in your pocket and now, FINALLY, with a built in light. It has so many games and acessories that you will be busy for a long time. I really recommend.

The Old Standby of Hand Helds

Strengths: Portable, Built-To-Last, Improved Screen.

Weakness: A bit small for Adult Hands, No Universal AC Adapter, No regular Headphone Jack.

Got one of this as an early present for myself for Christmas. Been using the old first generation Game Boy Advance for a long time. The newly improved back-lit screen prompted me to "upgrade" my set to one of this (although I should have changed to a regular SP it a long time ago...). Had a choice between this or a Game Boy Micro, as both have improved back-lit screens. Picked up this one instead...

Game Boy Advance SP: Onyx

Strengths: Lighted screen, compact 'clamshell' design, built in rechargable battery which lasts 8-10+ hours

Weakness: Controls are small and can sometimes be uncomfy compared to original GBA, no headphone port

The Gameboy Advance SP is my favorite portable system, I have the Nintendo DS already but I still take my GBASP out with me more. Its more compact and doesn't feel as fragile as the DS, so its easier for me to just toss it in my pocket or back and not worry. There's really not much to say about the SP, its all there in its design. Its the improved version of the original GBA, but its easy to...
