NBA Live 2004

Strengths: The price (if you don't mind playing with older rosters). Presentation is very nice. Gameplay is smooth. Player models are very nice looking and are animated very well.

Weakness: Older rosters. NO XBOX LIVE.

Wow! What a great game for the price tag?! This is a very enjoyable game (if you don't mind last season's rosters). The gameplay is smooth, it has a few innovations (split of dunk and shoot buttons), very nice graphics, and the presentation is slick. The game has a little bit of an arcade slant, but if you enjoy basketball, especially basketball with an emphasis on offense, then you will enjoy...

Non sports fan perspective

Strengths: Decent controls, nice graphics.

Weakness: Not the latest one, with a roster out of date.

Before taking my review too much to heart, I must admit to not playing many sports games, and no basketball game before this. Having said that, I had fun with this game. The controls were simpler than I would have assumed, and while I will never be into this game like a real sports fan would, I felt reasonably competent at the game. If I followed basketball, I suppose I would have been awed at...

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: New moves, easier to get to the hoop, graphics, sound

Weakness: Hard to play defense

NBA Live 2004 is a great basketball game if you like dynamic moves and arcade action. The crossover moves have been tweaked where you can use the analog stick to make a move on the defender. It is very easy to get to the basket and attempt a layup/dunk, even with the difficulty turned all the way up. The graphics are great as the moves are incredible that you can do in this game. The sound is...

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: Well done game, very cheap these days, enjoyed the freestyle play

Weakness: outdated rosters

Year old sports games are some of the best deals in video games, and this is no exception. A well done gameplay system and a very good franchise mode are great. Half the time I don't even play the games in franchise mode. You do have one year old rosters, but if you don't really care that your team doesn't have the scrub it signed in the offseason, it doesn't matter. The only problem is that it...

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: Great Gameplay, Realistic Looking player models, lots of replay value, Cheap bargain bin price.

Weakness: It's a 2004 edition, 2005 should be better, No live support, control isn't as tight as the playstation 2 version.

This is my Basket Ball game I played since NBA JAM, NBA live series is 1 of the best out there. This game is lots of fun & with friends it's a blast. Pros: Lots of updated teams & players, the instant replay in the game is pretty cool, lots of friends with friend, we have torny with this game and it's a blast. Graphic is pretty good, but you have to admit XBOX could do better. Cons: No live...

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: Slick presentation, good mo-cap animations, improved player control

Weakness: No online play, 2005 version delivers a more complete package

NBA Live 2004 is obviously outdated...but hey, it can be had for dirt cheap! Despite lacking online play, up-to-date rosters, and the new features found in the 2005 edition, Live 2004 remains an enjoyable basketball game. The game sports good graphics and sound, and the gameplay is accessible and fairly deep. It was well worth the few bucks I paid for it.

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: strong front end

Weakness: weak franchise

If you want a multiplayer basketball game, get this one. This mulitplayer is excellent and very smooth. The single player franchise is a little week, but it is very fun to play.

NBA Live 2004

Strengths: Gameplay. Graphics.

Weakness: Not a major improvement from NBA Live 2003.

NBA Live returned with a new product in 2004. However for the consumer there wasn't much improvement from Live 2003. The controls and graphics are still the same and you have to wonder what EA sports will do next to keep the consumer captivated for 2005.

NBA Live 2004

It’s NBA time kids, and the first game to hit the market this season (perhaps to try and get a jump on the competition) is the latest title from EA Sports’ long running franchise, NBA Live 2004. Though Live 2003 had great commercial success, it was maligned by some (myself included) as too concentrated on offense and fairly manic in its pace. This year’s version adds all the bells and...

NBA Live 2004 (xbox)

This year's pro hoops season is chockfull of giant-sized question marks: Will Karl Malone finally win a title? Is LeBron the Real Deal? Is America ready to fall in love with Darko Milicic? On the console front, things are just as up-in-the-air. Sega Sports rolls out its new ESPN-branded title. Microsoft cranks out another in its improving Inside Drive series. And the granddaddy of them all, NBA...

NBA Live 2004 (xbox)

NBA Live is about taking it to the hoop and ramming the rock down your opponent's throat. It's about coming up big on D, elevating your game to the next level, and batting that dunk back into the stands. It's about freestyle, ankle-breaking moves, where all the defender can do is sit and marvel at your Air Force Ones as you rise toward the rim.
