Product Details of Sword of Mana GBA

Description

Sword of Mana is a Game Boy Advance heir to the glorious heritage of Square's SNES RPGs of the 90's. Secret of Mana, Sword of Mana's predecessor, is widely regarded as one of the finest console RPG's ever made. Although the two share little in common in terms of story, they both feature a similar art style, action-oriented gameplay and wildly-addictive gameplay. Boasting a huge game environment, a gripping storyline and a deep class upgrade system, Sword of Mana delivers epic adventure. In Sword of Mana, you'll choose between playing a male or female hero. Although there is just one overall storyline, the pieces of that story you experience and areas of the world you visit will be determined by the character you choose. Often, the two characters work together, but there are some areas that are exclusive to each. Players that enjoy the game will want to play through it again to explore all the terrain they missed from the other perspective.

Outdated RPG.

Strengths: Fun combat, decent story.

Weakness: Feels outdated, too easy to get lost.

Sword of Mana, a popular RPG that was good on the Super Nintendo, has not aged well, as most RPGs have surpassed this game years ago. The combat is fairly fun, as you fight your enemies in the fields as you travel along the maps. The story is fairly decent, but it too was not that strong when the game first came out. The big main problem besides being outdated is that it's too easy to get...

Broken Sword

Strengths: Nothing, really.

Weakness: Punching bag enemies and bosses, lack of challenge, half-stupid ally AI, meh dungeons.

Sword of Mana is, quite frankly, one of the most boring Action/Adventure games on the GBA. Many of the enemies do not contribute positively to the combat, as they act as punching bags that do not make you do anything more than press the attack button. Sure your characters gain access to various weapons in the game and certain enemies are weak against different ones, but the change in damage is...

Sword of Mana GBA

Strengths: Great graphics, two complete quests, multiplayer support, great story

Weakness: None apparent

Sword of Mana is a great RPG for the GBA. The graphics are very well done, showing great detail and color, showing off the GBA well. There are two complete quests, one as the hero and one as the heroine, to go through, with a great epic story behind it. There's some great coop multiplayer in the game, though it needs two copies of the game and a link cable to accomplish. For RPG fans, this is a...

Sword of Mana

Strengths: A new entry in the Mana series is always welcome.

Weakness: I expected a bit more.

The Sword of Mana is a fine RPG on the GBA. There's nothing inherently bad about the game. The graphics, sound, gameplay, story, AI, etc are all serviceable at worst. Unfortunately since this was the first Mana game I have played since Secret of Mana (the translated Seiken Densetsu 3 notwithstanding), I was a little disappointed by what has been improved upon in the ten years since that game. For...

Missing that Mana Magic

Strengths: It's a Mana RPG on the Gameboy, and it's not a bad game.

Weakness: It's not a great game, either.

The very name "Secret of Mana" is magic, and it sets a high standard for what the gamer expects. "Sword of Mana" doesn't quite reach that goal. "Sword of Mana" is often clunky -- everything from dealing with the menus to figuring out where to go next and getting there. It never feels as easy or elegant as it should. It's not bad, and it's nothing you can't deal with and still enjoy the game, but...

Sword of Mana

Strengths: Fairly decent action RPG for Game Boy Advance

Weakness: Nothing special, bad computer character AI

Sword of Mana is an action RPG where you control one of two main characters in a quest to obtain, you guessed it, the Sword of Mana. This is not a turn-based random encounter Japanese RPG. You directly control the character doing the fighting. You can swap weapons, and in fact this is crucial to defeating certain enemies (you must learn their weakness and use the right weapon). You choose to play...

Sword of Mana

Strengths: Great graphics and decent gameplay

Weakness: Way too easy, throw away story-line

Sword of Mana is a remake of the old Final Fantasy Adventure on the original Gameboy. SOM plays much better than the original but not quite on par with the classic Secret of Mana. The storyline is bland and completely forgettable and the music isn't too far behind. The main quest isn't very long but Square did a good job with replay value for those who love playing through a game a couple of...

Sword Of Mana

Strengths: sound

Weakness: Lack of improvements

Sword of Mana was a collaboration between a newly created developer and longtime rpg powerhouse Square. The game is a reworking of the Japanese only release of Seiken Densetsu, a precursor to the US release Final Fantasy Adventure. So does the remake work? Graphically Sword of Mana is in the middle graphically. It certainly doesn't match up with other Square releases or top rpg games like Golden...

Sword of Greatness

Strengths: Awesome graphics

Weakness: Glitchy gameplay

This is a psedu-sequel to the cult hit, Secret of Mana for the original Super Nintendo. It's an action RPG where you travel through hordes of dungeons, fight big bosses, level up, hunt down cool equippment and enjoy some of the finest graphics available for the GBA.... the only real downside is that at times the gameplay goes seriously glitchy--you've got to deal with grahpics glitches, sound...

Sword of Mana GBA

Strengths: 2 Playable Characters, lots of weapons/magic

Weakness: Easy to get lost

Sword of Mana is the story of a male and female character out on a quest to find the secrets of the Mana tree. You are free to name them as you like. During the game you can switch between the two, the male mostly uses swords while the female uses rods and wands for magic. The gameplay is great, action RPG style with a overhead view. The sprites are quite lively in the color environments. The...
