Good Deal!

Strengths: Easy to carry. Nice black color. Simple to handle

Weakness: I didn't find weaknesses yet.

It was very good deal. It was a reasonable price, although it is Sony brand. Although I use DSLR camera and camcorder, it is enough to use those kinds of heavy items with this tripod. In addtion, it is easy to handle.

Field Master Tripod

Strengths: Light and steady with the ability to hold a camera with an extended long range lens without tipping over.

Weakness: A carrying case for tripod would have been nice

Light and steady with the ability to hold a camera with an extended long range lens without tipping over. Easy assembling and the built in bubble level takes the guess work out leveling tripod. I wish a carrying case for tripod was included with tripod.

Sony VCT-R640 Tripod

Strengths: Very light, easy to carry. The extendabel feet make the height easy to adjust (we were asked about where to get such an one while we were using it).The head is flexible and easy to learn.

Highly recommend, it is really good for both digital camera and film camera for home use. Especially the low price. I got it in the third day after I ordered it, so in time to catch my trip. That is great!!

Sony VCT-R640 Tripod

Strengths: 1. light and easy-fold 2. convinent and simple 3. good shape and design

Weakness: Made in China

I bought my Sony VCT-R640 at Amazon.com. It costed me $35.94 (including shipping fees). It hs a shining shape and my fovourite color(black). It works very well with my following items: 1). Sony F-828 Digital Camera; 2). Sony DCR-TRV39 HandyCam 3). Olympus Stylus Epic Zoom 170 film camera 4). Nikon Coolpix 4300 Gigital Camera I feel that it is very suitable for ordinary family and single person....

Sony VCT-R640 Tripod

Strengths: stable, and light

Weakness: no

This tripod is really a good camera accessory. It can be extended to 62 inches but it is still light enough while carrying. It is also stable when it is extended to the highest.

It's a perfect choice for almost all levels people's...

Strengths: stability, always the first concern for a tripod, 4.5/5.0 flexibility with smooth operations, 4.9/5.0 value 5.0/5.0 weight, one factor you must consider for your trip, 5.0/5.0

Weakness: without a carrying handle.

I'm quite satisfied with this tripod. It's made of decent aluminium alloy and engineering plastics, which let it be suitable for heavy duty use. Although the weight of the tripod is somekind light, the stability of it is still excellent and I don't believe any tipping over could happen under general conditions. this tripod costs me $34 totally, and I'm completely happy with my purchase.

A Great Value from SONY

Strengths: Lightweight, smooth operation, black color, reliable brand, low price

Weakness: bounce back a little after moving up or down

I got it from Amazon for about $23. For the price I am completely satisfied with the tripod. I first bought a Taugus tripod from MicroCenter for about $20. I returned that and turned to this one from SONY. The tripod runs very smoothly - which is the 1st concern for a tripod. It's a 3-section tripod with quick release, central elevator, and a bubble lever. The black color gives a professional...

Sony VCT-R640 Tripod

Strengths: Very light, extends high (about 56"). You can also flip the head 90 degrees so you can shoot vertically, if you ever need it.

Weakness: You're probably paying $5-$10 for Sony name alone

Since the screw is standard size, it will work not only for Sony products, but probably for every other camcorder or camera you have. Height is a big advantage of this tripod. My previous tripod was one of those "free" Sakar ones that you get in some electronics store and was half the height of this one

Sony VCT-R640 Lightweight Tripod

Strengths: Light and easy to adjust height. Easy to attach camera/camcorder to base.

Weakness: None really. It's lightweight, but don't think of it as a regular portable tripod.

This is a pretty good tripod, with good stability and easily adjustable heights. Most of the material is metal. It is very easy to manuever the camera on the tripod and has a wide degree of allowed movement. You can probably get a cheaper tripod, but you know you are getting something solid with the Sony name.
