NHL Hitz Pro GameCube

Strengths: Great multiplayer fun, retains the old feel of Wayne Gretzkey 64.

Weakness: No online play (PS2 only), not a simulation game (if that's what you're looking for).

The Hitz series is Midway's attempt to stray away from the arcade like feel of their games and delve more into the simulation aspects. But if you're on the arcade fence, don't fret. The game still features all that great arcade feel, it just has a dash of simulation touch now. I used to play this game to death when it was called Wayne Gretzky on the Nintendo 64. Most of the digital hockey we know and love today has very strong roots to past consoles. EA's NHL has been defined by NHL 97 since that release, for example. Similarly, Midway's Hitz franchise grew out of the Nintendo 64 release of Gretzky's 3D Hockey.
