Not good for school, not continuous

Strengths: Pretty colors

Weakness: It is not reliable

This pencil sharpener lasted five weeks in a second grade classroom in St. Paul, MN. Now it overheats in five minutes. The kids tested it and it failed big time. The teacher does not approve, I am sure. This is not a good product and I do not recommend buying it at all.

IF I COULD RATE IT A ZERO I WOULD.

Strengths: None

Weakness: Motor Blow Out In Two Months, Poor Workmanship, Falsely Advertised

My Exacto Boston School Pro Pencil Sharpener rating needs to be ZERO because it is a ZERO. We live in a school district that still send to the classroom and endorses the hand crank pencil sharper that screw on the wall. This is a bad idea in the classroom especially when you have 20-25 students in the class room, lined up to sharpen their pencils in the morning. The students would spend 30...

tried it twice

Strengths: quick and quiet

Weakness: blunt and broken pencils

First one I had within three months was only sharpening down one side of the pencils. They replaced it and within 4 months it was sharpening the pencils, but somehow it would break them about 1/4" down so when you would go to write it would fall out. Certainly not worth the money.

Boston School Pencil Sharpener

Strengths: Large holder for shavings, multiple pencil sizes, cord length

Weakness: Became dull after about 7 months, breaks pencil lead (graphite) when dull

I returned my first one after about 7 months because it was breaking the pencil lead (graphite) when sharpening inexpensive pencils. Boston replaced it with an E-ACTO. It became dull after about 7 months and is now breaking pencil lead again. Can't use it and Boston tells me there is no way to replace the blades.

Hunt School Pro Heavy-Duty Electric Sharpener

Strengths: Does various sizes which most others dont do.

Weakness: Got blunt very quickly. Inside 6 months - one had to spend up to a minute to sharpen a large pensil.

The first period of time - all went well. But the fact that it went blunt within a short period of time and I could find no way of resharpening it ment that I must now buy a new one. My advice - Avoid any sharpener which offers no easy replacement for the cutter mechanism. This happened just through home use. In a school environment this would have occured much sooner.

Don't buy it

Strengths: Worked great for about a month

Weakness: It stops working quickly

Students complained after a month that it wasn't sharpening their pencils. And people wonder why schools pay so much money out...they need supplies that last longer than the school year!!! And supplies that they shouldn't be buying yearly.

Boston School Pro is a keeper!

Strengths: This sharpener is quiet. It sharpens very fast. I like the see-through shavings container...it helps to know when to empty.

Weakness: I sure haven't found any weaknesses. I'm very satisfied.

My 1st graders love this pencil sharpener. It is lightning fast and sharpens into a short sharp point. I have not found a pencil yet that it will not sharpen. I have 2 electric sharpeners, but my class will only use this one, due to it's ease of use. It is very quiet and gets the job done quickly. I have a teacher friend who recommended that I try this sharpener. She has used hers for 2 years,...

Boston School Pro Pencil Sharpener

Strengths: Sharpens even pencils that are coated and jam up other sharpeners. Sharpens various sizes of pencils.

This is the best pencil sharpener I have ever used. It sharpens everything including pencils wrapped in pretty coatings. We have one in every classroom in our school. You will love this sharpener!

Boston School Pro

Strengths: Love the way you can empty it, it's really easy for students to do by themselves. It's kind of heavy so that is really good for counter type sharpeners. I really like the price as well. Thanks!

I really like the overall product, it's easy enough for students to empty by themselves, and has the heavy weight that counter top sharpener needs, and the price wasn't half bad either.

junk

Strengths: the first few weeks it works great

Weakness: after the honeymoon...it's divorce court

I thought I was buying a "heavy-duty" sharpener and spent nearly $70 for it last year thinking I would save money in the long run. Nope. It worked great for the first month or so, then, you had to push the pencil in for a long time to get it sharpened and eventually the motor would seize. Hey, what do you want to be that this piece of _____ is made in China?
