Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Strengths: It has an original setting for an action RPG.

Weakness: It lacks the detailed story of its pc counterparts. The overhead prespective is akward.

This game is a standard action RPG in the lines of Champions of Norrath or the Baldurs Gate dark alliance games. The difference comes in the post apocalyptic setting which focuses more on modern and futuristic weaponry and themes than on the standard fantasy themes of similar games. The camera angle is too far overhead for my liking and detracts from the otherwise good graphics. I would reccomend...

Fallout without radiation

Strengths: Decent graphics and effects

Weakness: Very little sound and background music

I loved playing the first Fallout several years ago, I was hoping that this game would provide some of the same gameplay. Nope. This is a basic hack and slash fantasy game dressed to look modern. The graphics and characters all look good and I really liked some of the lighting effects, however it could be much better is there was more sound effects and music, as some times, it seemed very empty....

Brotherhood of mediocrity

Strengths: Solid hack-and-slash gameplay

Weakness: Gets repetitive very quickly, stupid story

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is basically the hack-and-slash game you play once you've already finished all the truly great games in the genre (like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, etc). It's basically a carbon-copy of those games, except with more high-tech weapons instead. And like any hack-and-slash game, it gets boring extremely quickly... without a friend, the long...

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

Strengths: 2 player coop play, relatively long missions, decent amount of skill sets to evolve and grow, unlockable characters

Weakness: Simple gameplay, silly storyline not really worthy of the Fallout series, repetitive hack and slash

Do you like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? Do you like Gauntlet Legends? How about Hunter: The Reckoning or one of its many spin offs? Well, if you do, this game is for you. Basically, this is the same engine that appeared in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for the PS2 but this time based int he Fallout world (based on the famous Fallout Tactics series on the PC). The gameplay is basic hack and...

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

When it was released on the PC back in 1998, Fallout offered up a great blend of futuristic storyline and Dungeons and Dragons inspired gameplay set in a rich RPG universe. The series went on to gain critical acclaim and set the mood for the release of the Baldur’s Gate series and it’s subsequent sequels and emulators. Now, Fallout is finally hitting consoles in the same vein as the...

Fallout BrotherhoodSteel

As 2003 wound to a close, Interplay axed its Black Isle division due to financial difficulties. Presumably, this puts an end to Fallout 3, a PC title that had been in development and was to follow up the popular Fallout and Fallout 2 that had come out in 1997 and 1998, respectively. Keeping their focus on the console market, Interplay is instead continuing to come out with Fallout: Brotherhood of...

Fallout BrotherhoodSteel

Interplay, a venerable game company in slightly less financial trouble than the state of California, recently killed its Black Isle Studios division. This painful act presumably puts a permanent end to the development of Fallout 3, the next entry in the cult PC role-playing franchise that was launched in 1997 -- and from which Brotherhood of Steel was derived.
