Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Castlevania on the go.

Weakness: Difficulty is too easy compared to past Castlevanias and soul system is faulty.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is a 2-d side-scrolling action/adventure game with RPG elements thrown into the mix for Gameboy Advance. You play as Soma Cruz out to dispatch the evil Count Dracula in a future time where guns are at your disposal. Along with all the other traditional Castlevania weapons. You stroll around the castle killing badguys with a few boss battles in between. In this version...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Highly polished, great looking entry into the Castlevania saga

Weakness: Not a fan of the 'collect-a-thon' gameplay

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is the first game in the series set in the future, but it doesn't stray far from the formula that many fans have loved since Symphony of the Night. I'm not the biggest fan of the style of gameplay found in Aria of Sorrow. I prefer style found in the old school Castlevania games but what's here is good. As Soma Cruz, you'll make your way through Dracula's ancient castle...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Too good for words.

Weakness: I seriously can't think of any.

This may be the best GBA game there is. You have to get it. Circle of the Moon, the first GBA game, was a fun game with great music and decent if not spectacular graphics. The follow-up, Harmony of Dissonance, had much better graphics at the expense of music and gameplay. Aria of Sorrow nails them all. It's beautiful, sounds great, has an interesting story, and best of all, it plays like a dream....

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Cool skill system, its fun to see what all of the souls do, lots to explore

Weakness: Its a bit hard going until you find the item guy (need potions), I find its hard to hit with weapons that don't make a big swing arc, tedious to collect souls

In this game you play a guy stuck in Dracula's castle. After discovering you have the ability to steal monster souls and use their powers yourself, you explore the castle looking for a way out. Its got everything I could want, exploration and collection. There's plenty of secrets to discover, and lots of souls to try out. I had a lot of fun with this title. When you are done, you can use new game...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: RPG & Action Elements seemlessly together in a classic video game series. Solid control like all Castlevania games :)

Weakness: As Dracula will never die 2D Castlevania games don't have anything negative about them :D

Third Castlevania installment on the GameBoy Advance. Great game which is a showcase for why I have a GameBoy Advance & why tend to play a portable game at home when I could be playing a console system at times. It funny how Castlevania SOTN was arguebly the one of the best (if not the best) game on the Playstation yet we barely see great 2D games on the console systems now adays. This is...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Very cool side scrolling action, fun gameplay, controls are relatively simple and understandable

Weakness: I suck at it. :(

This game is very cool and the only complaint I have is that I am no good at it. The game is classic side scrolling Castlevania action on the GBA and is perfect for on the go gaming. The controls are solid and easy to pick up and the action is quite fun. I'd recommend this game to just about anyone looking for a great portable game. I just hope you are better than me at playing it.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: It's Castlevania.

Weakness: It's Castlevania

The castlevania series is one of the greatest series in gaming. This game lives up to the legacy. You play [insert nondescript hero's name here] trying to kill Dracula on a side-scrolling romp through his castle. You use a variety of weapons as well as the new ability to absorb souls. Basically you defeat a baddie, absorb his soul, and then gain his attacks and powers. The castle is large enough...

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Strengths: Great graphics and sound, great gameplay, nice amount of unlockables

Weakness: None apparent

Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow is the third Castlevania game to come to the GBA, and it is a well-done game. The game takes place in the future, though it's a Castlevania game to its core. The graphics are nicely well done and look great, the sounds and music are also nicely done. The gameplay involves fighting enemies, collecting armor and weapons and collecting souls, the last of which offer up...

Castlevania in the future

Strengths: It's Castlevania

Weakness: Very similar to previous incarnations

Not much needs to be said regarding the Castlevania games on GBA if you've played any of them. They're all a very similar side-scrolling action game set in a gothic environment, pitting you against, who else, Dracula. One thing this iteration has done is refine the difficulty somewhat, so its neither too hard nor too easy. Castlevania fans, this is a must buy. In fact, it's a must buy for...

Castlevania with a wierd aftertaste

Strengths: Some interesting enemies, tactical souls add flavor to exploration and combat.

Weakness: Not that challenging, could use some more traps and puzzles.

Yet again, IGA and his team have made another installment in the Castlevania series. This installment of the series brings the usage of Tactical Souls into the game. These souls (Bullet, Guardian, and Enchantment) give Soma, the MC in the game, various abilities. Bullet souls are attack abilities, Guardian souls allow Soma to summon familiars or transform into various monsters, and Enchantment...

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

23 months. That's how long it has been since the Game Boy Advance was released. In those 23 months, only one developer has released three brand-new sequels to one of the most beloved video game series. The developer is Konami, and the game is none other than Castlevania. Beginning with Circle of the Moon, Konami's onslaught of Castlevania games ruled the Game Boy Advance. While the Mario Advance...

Castlevania AriaSorrow

Konami's Castlevania adventures for the Game Boy Advance have a bit of a spotty record thus far. Circle of the Moon was an engaging and challenging game, but was weak in graphics and level design. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance fixed the graphics, broke the music and challenge, and forced players into far too much pointless, meandering plodding. I'm thrilled, then, that with Castlevania: Aria...

Castlevania AriaSorrow

Only eight months after the release of Harmony of Dissonance, Konami unleashes a third game in the franchise. Aria of Sorrow takes what the development team built for Harmony of Dissonance, improves on the audio quality and bumps up the difficulty. The game may feature a drastic departure in storyline from previous games in the series, both on the GBA and on past consoles, but it's still...
