Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Strengths: Solid strategy, colorful graphics, improved story and AI, additional characters (COs)

Weakness: Difficulty and learning curve will put off those that did not play the first Advance Wars.

Tanks, planes, ships, and soldiers, oh my! This game is easily one of the best turn-based strategy games available for GBA, easily rivaling FF Tactics or Fire Emblem (both very good games as well). Deceptively simple graphics and interesting music wrapped around an addictingly deep game. Give it a shot. Advance Wars 2 is a sequel which well-surpasses the original. Unfortunately, those that did...

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Strengths: Amazing turn-based strategy action, good graphics and sound effects, very good story, smart AI, great multiplayer action

Weakness: Not that easy to jump into and start playing

Advance Wars 2 is a turn-based strategy game, based on the war between different nation states. Each turn is done with attacking and defending between different types of units on both sides, all with advantages and disadvantages. There are new units and new commanding officers compared to the first Advance Wars. The graphics are nice and colorful, and the sound effects are quite good. The story...

More strategic game into your pocket 2

Strengths: New troops, weapons and stages.

Weakness: Not an easy game for starters

This is one of the best strategy warfare in your pocket. Only for GameBoy Adv. This game has a great plot and with the new difficulty and additional troops makes this game the best. If you are a risk game type of fan , I recommend this game to you it is a must have. Some starters would have a hard time due to the low lack of tutorial since is the sequel of the first version of the game.

Advance Wars Review

Strengths: Gameplay

Weakness: Odd Story

Advance Wars 2 Black Hole Rising is the sequel to one of the hit games on the Game Boy Advance. It has classic 2D turn based strategy gameplay that is ever so addicting. The game looks fantastic and is just a blast to play. The game can be challenging but for a game like this that is a good thing as it keeps you busy. The story is a little on the bad side but luckily it wont affect the game any....

Advance Wars: The Continuation

Strengths: More solid strategy

Weakness: Very few

Advance Wars 2 picks up right where the first game left off. The difficulty is unrelenting, and the introduction of new units adds some diversity to battles. Everything in game is presented a little cleaner in this iteration of the game, and story elements introduced here carry on through the DS sequel.

Advance Wars 2

Strengths: Great strategic gameplay, good graphics

Weakness: Not much storyline

Advance Wars 2 is an excellent strategy game for the Gameboy Advance that features and easy to pick up battle system that is in depth enough for strategy pros. The graphics are fun, cartoony, and really nice to look at. The characters and vehicles are unique and you can really have a great time with this game. I'm not a huge fan of strategy games, but I'd suggest checking this one out if you are...

More of The Same Ain't Such A Bad Thing In This Case

Strengths: Tons of Replay, Single & Multi Cart Replay

Weakness: Not Much Changed Or Added Since The First Advance Wars

Advance Wars 2 is a turn based strategy game in which you move army units around a grid based board while fighting against enemies that plays much like games such as Final Fantasy Tactics, Vandal Hearts or Shinning Force. While it's a sequel it is very much like the first Advance Wars without adding much of anything yet it retains everything about the first Advance Wars which made it so much fun....

Simply Awesome for the Strategy Fan

Strengths: Excellent strategy gameplay and story mode, top-notch versus modes.

Weakness: None (I'm biased).

Advance Wars was my first GBA game, and I bought it without knowing what to expect. Ultimately, it became one of my favorite games for its deep strategy gameplay and fun story mode. With that in mind, AW2 is better in almost every way. The tutorial mode is well-integrated within the story mode, and the challenge is intense without being frustrating. In addition, the stages have a great variety of...

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

They say that good things come to those who wait. As true as that old saying may be, the video industry indicates the complete opposite. See, what we have here is Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, the sequel to one of Nintendo's sleeper hits. It wasn't held back or over-developed, and no statements were ever released saying that it would be "done when it's done." Yet the quality is remarkable,...

Advance Wars 2 Black Hole Rising

Two days before 9/11, Nintendo released the original Advance Wars. Despite the hard times affecting the country in the aftermath of the disaster, Advance Wars' sales were surprisingly brisk -- not only was this a military game, this was a turn-based strategy game, one of the supposedly unmarketable genres in the United States. Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising improves on the tradition of the...
