Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: small size (smaller than a pack of smokes), 3MP sensor, stainless-steel body, 640 movie mode, 9 point auto-focus, seperate manual mode, intelligent flash, and battery duration.

Weakness: 2X optical zoom

i purchased this camera because i was tired of lugging around my nikon digital for 'just fun' photographs of amusement parks, bike rides, and regular pictures of my son and his friends. the housewife/soccer mom, novice, and semi-pro will fall in love with this digital-elph. in my opinion, canon & nikon have the sharpest lenses available, and this S230 doesn't let anyone down. it can make a...

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: Does everything

Weakness: Only in the ignorance of previous reviewers. And camera shake,

Cheap batteries can be found for the camera. Turn off the LCD if your batter runs out fast. Stop giving it bad reviews because it has a 2x optical zoom. You give it 4 stars for not paying attention before you bought it. Red eye happens because the flash is too close to the lens. This is an amazing camera that is intuitively understood. You dont have to read the manuall because everything is right...

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: High picture quality, Easy to use and to remember the manual, so light for carrying with me anytime, Clear color image

Weakness: seriously short range of zoom, high price for pixel, no significant technical development from S200..

It was so hard to choose S330 and S230.. The only differences are Zoom and Pixel.. Still I do not know my choice is well done or not.. Anyway the good picture does not tell the camera's quality but the user's skill according many digital pictures that are shown on web sites...

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: Big Images, good quality, lots of features, crisp LCD display, Easy to use and suprising battery life

Weakness: weak 2X zoom, the response time is way to slow if your trying to shoot images in motion, the software included isn't that great in terms of keeping track of your images, movie mode is very poor qualit

I know I list a fare amount of gripes but I'm still getting over the price but overall this is a very good camera especally for a beginner. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS PRODUCT BE CAREFUL!!!there is a wide price range on this product and its very easy to get riped of in terms of pricing.

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: About the size of a pack of cigs so it's very easy to shoot and go. Get at least a 128 card. Shoot in color, black & white, sepia-lets see leica do that. Good manual and automatic preferences.

Weakness: Grain filled on more detail of pics. but have yet to see one that doesnt.

Very nice for a Japanese camera-which are almost as good as the German ones. For the price, they can't be beat but if your a serious photographer, look elsewhere. Beginner to novice-it's perfect, almost.

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: Compact, Fits in Pocket.

Weakness: Only has a 2X Optical Zoom. The Battery doesn't last that long. A big red eye problem when taking pictures at night. The LCD screen is very delicate.

If you buy a digital camera, buy one that has a 3X optical zoom, anything less then that is a piece of crap. Point and Shoot cameras are lousy.

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: Resolution of photos, long video mode (with 256MB card, extra$),small size, ergonomics

Weakness: short battery life (rechargeable),not durable,no light for video mode

I really loved this camera. I bought it for Spring Break and needless to say I captured a lot of footage from Sunday to Thursday (prolly more photos than some cameras see in their lifetimes), unfortunately during the course of Thursday night, I must have dropped the camera and that was the end of my experience with it.

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: This sucker is SMALL. At about the size of a pack of cigarettes it can easily fit into any pocket with ease. The image quality is great. You can snap off about 68 pics at high res on a 64 MB card.

Weakness: It can't do low light. I tried to snap off a shot of the San Diego sky line at dusk. Light conditions were low but not gone and the city lights were bright. The image came out black.

I love the size and the picture quality. The USB port zaps the shots into your CPU in no time. I use a 64 MB chip all the time and I have no worries about running out of room. The menus are simple and easy to use, thought not very extensive. I don't have many complaints about the battery capacity. Two batteries would be nice though. All in all I recommend this camera for people who don't intend...

Canon PowerShot S230 3.2 Megapixel Compact Camera -...

Strengths: I love the size of this camera! I love the resolution of the pictures! I love the ease of using this camera!

Weakness: I don't like the lack of red eye reduction. I don't like the fact that it came with no case, a very small memory and the battery needs recharging often.

My Son gave me this camera for Christmas because he had one and knew I would love it too. He lives in California and I live in Missouri so we both email a lot of pictures. When I print the pictures using my new Canon i850 printer they look just like professionally done photos!! I gave him a Canon i850 printer after I had mine for about 2 weeks so now we both have great equipment!!

Canon PowerShot S230

Canon's Digital ELPH cameras have been among the most popular subcompact digicams for quite a while now. So far though, they've been limited to two-megapixels of resolution, a level that's been perceived by many consumers as a limitation. Now however, the new PowerShot S230 moves the line up to a full three-megapixel sensor, while retaining the excellent build quality and image rendition of...
