Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Best 3D first person shooter... Ever. It is not just another Quake game. Name one other game where drive a fighter carrier, a submarine and a German tank in the same game... It's

Weakness: Bad single player. Online or LAN play recommended. No in-game voice possibility, like in Counterstrike/Halflife.

After playing Doom, Quake, Unreal, Counterstrike and Day of defeat, this game took the genre to whole new dimension. Still you can run around maps and shooting using your guns, but you can also jump into a tank and drive around. If that is not enough you jump into a plane and take off a carrier or if that is not enough you can drive the carrier itself... Really cool. The graphics is very nice but...

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: -Extreme replayability -Just plain old good fun -Good community, and many others to play with online. No problems finding games.

Weakness: -Eats up a lot of CPU time -Graphic intensive (If you get too many players on the screen at once, hello slide show)

-Incredible game. The graphics are not the most elite of them out there, but the way the developers have been able to combine flying, driving, and navigating ships into the game, all while making it extremly fun is remarkable. This game easily is my all-time favorite game. -The best are moments when you and several of your buddies are marching into take an enemy town/capture point. As you trot...

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Online multiplayer, graphics, replayablity factor

Weakness: Lag spikes like crazy

This game is very good. So good, in fact, that I would want to play it nonstop but the lag spikes would get so intense that I needed to log off. I had connection problems in the past, but transfering from this game into something like Soldier of Fortune II there's no lag spikes and all that. This game is very detailed.. when an enemy player (or a friendly player just screwing around) attacks you...

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Size of maps; graphical detail; variety of warcraft and weaponry; computer player (bot) AI as opposition; 64-player multiplayer games (on T1 server, 32 is more common)

Weakness: Slow loading between maps; less-than-intelligent server/slow reload of a map already played; computer player (bot) AI as teammate(s); inaccurate weapon strength (underpowered)

This game's strength lies in its massive multiplayer ability and fairly simply server setup. It allows you to run a dedicated server (no player on the server) or a less powerful server which allows a player to use the server as well. Slow load times between maps gets annoying, but in a team battle scenario gives you a few moments to collect your thoughts before you're in the thick of it again....

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Graphics, Sounds and the possibility to use and go pretty much anywhere and do anything. online play up to 64 players

Weakness: Needs a good computer and net connection. Teamkillers and Campers in game.

I have been playing this game since it was released and I still play it(and love it). It has 2 expansionpacs Road To Rome and Secret Weapons Of WW2(these aren´t as good as the original BF1942 but still worth buying). And you can download FREE Skins, Sounds, Maps, Mods (If u have this game go get Desert Combat (modern war) and Forgotten Hope (more realistic WW2) and FREE utilities so you can make...

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Game play is awesome! Graphics is great, Soundeffects is good as well. Able to control diffrent war machines and playing as a team.

Weakness: Takes a bit long in loading in-between maps, sluggish vehicle controls.

I would recommend people to download single player/multi-player and "try it out" themselves. This game like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault are great first shooter games to play. Team play is a "must" to get far with Battlefield 1942.

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Highly addictive game. Good sound and graphics. Can be played online.

Weakness: The AI can be pretty dumb at times. A good quality graphics card is required.

I have had the game for about a month now. I mostly play the first person mode as I'm kind of intimated when I go into an online game and the players are so experienced. But in time and practice I be up there with the "pros" shooting, driving jeeps, planes tanks etc and bombing like everyone else.

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Online WWII combat with upto 64 players. And tanks!

Weakness: Laggy at times.

I have only one thing to add to the current reviews wich has not been yet. If you buy this game you would be doing yourself a great favor to download the Desert Combat mod for it. It is great.

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

Strengths: Excellent online play and the single player mode is also good too. Graphics are excellent and so is the sound. Controls are easy.

Weakness: The game lags sometimes playing single player, most likely it is due to the patches and updates on their website. I uninstalled the game twice. It runs well without the patches and updates.

This game is really good. Just the patches and updates messed up the game performance of this game on my computer. If you are going to fly a plane, I recommend that you have a joystick.

Electronic Arts Battlefield 1942

With the influx of games such as Medal of Honor, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and Call of Duty, World War II themed games have become increasingly popular amongst gaming publishers. Sometimes it can be confusing then, to discern the differences between all of those games. Somehow though, Battlefield 1942 manages to successfully create its own niche, separating itself from the crowd of FPS games...

Battlefield 1942

AS A GAME WRITER, it would be easy for me to fill a few pages with flowery prose raving endlessly about Battlefield: 1942. And, to some extent, I'm going to do just that. But let's be honest: there's only so much stock you can put in one person's opinion... right?
