Strengths: It is wireless and it works very well.

Weakness: I had to buy something extra.

Why didn't they not make it so that you could watch videos without the remote ? I know this is possible because the PS2 has this. They don't make you buy a remote to watch DVDs but they still give you the option if you want to. The remote itself is fine. I just am anoyed that I had to buy something on top of paying over $100 for an XBOX.

Strengths: Allows DVD playback on the Xbox.

Weakness: Remote feels cheap and flimsy.

It really sucks that you must purchase this kit for DVD playback on the Xbox. That said, this product actually works quite well. Setup is real easy and most of the functions avaible on a stand alone player are available with this kit. Picture quality seems good but is affected by how your Xbox unit is connected to your TV. S-Video or component is recommended.

Strengths: Has alot of nice features.

Weakness: No eject button or resume play feature.

It has alot of the same abilities as so many other dvd players has. Like ability to play pan scan, widescreen, and letterbox modes. Has zoom feature, sub titles, and can fast forward/back to 32x. But all in all I am very happy with this remote since it makes my Xbox a great dvd player to have.

Strengths: Fully functional, easy to use.

Weakness: No pass-through, so you have to switch the receiver in and out when you switch between movies and games.

Great product, everything works as it should. However, the underside is shaped a little odd, and it is fairly light in comparison to other remotes, which makes it feel a little flimsy. All in all, I am very happy with it though.

Strengths: Easy to use. Very similar to a DVD remote.

Although it would have been nice if the remote was bundled in with the Xbox game system, but it took a very short time to receive it after ordering it. It allows the Xbox to be used a very high quality DVD player, thereby saving us the space and expense of having a separate DVD player in our son's room.

Strengths: I really like the DVD kit. I bought it in hopes that I could save time and money by avoiding buying a DVD player and I have been quite pleased. It saves me time and is extraordinarily convenient.

Weakness: Its cost was a little high.

I haven't had the control for very long, but I am already glad that I purchased it. The cost was a little high, but in comparison to buying a DVD player separately, it was worth it. It is very convenient because I don't have to switch cables over and spend an hour figuring out which cable from my computer to my tv is misplaced or missing entirely.

This Remote has changed my life

Strengths: The only way to watch DVDs on your xbox.It is especially useful if you know how to turn your xbox into a media center! can also be made to work as remote control for PC if you just look around the web

Weakness: no backlight. that would be a really nice feature.

This is the second one I've purchased because they are that cool (i also have two xboxes - which is the main reason i needed two) The quality and finish on the orig microsoft DVD remote (this one) is a lot nicer than the generic units.

Strengths: Decent size, good amount of features, fast forward speed

Weakness: Microsoft's love of Black and Green. Lack of other colors like the current Green X-Box controller.

I like this product. It has less buttons than the PS2 remote, but does about the same amount of work. I really like the speed of the fast forward (40x) and the slow motion features. It would be better if it could be used as universal remote, but it can't. To sum it up, the X-box Movie Playback kit is a decent remote, that when it added to X-Box, makes it very good DVD player.

If you do not want to buy DVD player or have no room for it, this is the right product for you. Picture quality may be better than any other DVD player. Bad part is that you cannot turn off the xbox using the remote. really bad!!!

Weakness: Feels flimsy. You have to buy something extra to unlock an otherwise native function. Takes up a controller slot.

I'm not crazy about the need for the remote to play back DVDs on the Xbox, even if you have digital audio hooked up. Then there's that annoying 480i only on DVD playback with the HiDef component cables. Furthermore, it lacks some functions like resume. For $30 this seems like a bit much just to get DVD playback out of the Xbox, but at least you can program an all-in-one remote to run the playback...
