Nascar Thunder 2004

Strengths: Graphics, Career Mode, Alliances/Grudges system

Weakness: Racing can become repetitive

This is my first experience with a Nascar game for a console system as I have played the Nascar simulation games on the PC over the years. Nascar Thunder 2004 is more of an arcade style racer compared to those PC versions, but features some great simulation qualities. The modes int he game are well-done, especially the season mode allowing you to tweak and adjust about everything from your car to...

driving in circles

Strengths: Grudges, graphics, great simulation

Weakness: Gets fairly boring after just a few races

First let me state the obvious... driving in circles can get a bit boring after just a couple of races. So obviously you need some patience in order to play this game. Nascar Thunder 2004 for Xbox

Strengths: new feature-grudge and alliances

Weakness: can get boring

Nascar Thunder 2004 is a very fun racing game but can get repetitive for non-racing fans. The addition of the new grudges and alliances is interesting and keeps you more into the game. The career mode is pretty good, allowing you to change a lot of your settings, cars..etc.

NASCAR Thunder 2004

This year, EA has not attempted to reinvent the wheel by making any wholesale changes to NASCAR Thunder. The game plays and looks similarly to how it did last year, with the biggest new addition being a grudges and alliances feature that attempts to re-create some of the bad blood that we see between drivers on Sundays.

NASCAR Thunder 2004

EA has been trying very hard to grow the audience for its NASCAR titles beyond the niche of hardcore racing sim fans and hardcore NASCAR fans. To that end, this year a host of new features has been added with the purpose of making NASCAR 2004 a better game, instead of just adding more of the same from previous years' versions.
