One of the best fighting games ever

Strengths: Fun, super deep gameplay, tons of moves, lots of replay value

Weakness: Steep learning curve, no online play.

Virtue Fighter. Often lauded as the best fighting game series out there. And this series is the finest one yet. With tons of fighters, each with hundreds of special moves, there are a lot of things in this game to learn. You get different modes, regular single player, vs, tournament play, and the special Virtua Fighter tour. You take on players with AI based on the world's best Virtua Fighters in...

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Strengths: best fighter ever

Weakness: nothing

this game is the best game you can buy for 20 dollars. This game has unlimited replay value, great graphics, deep gameplay, memorable characters, and more. This game was released only as a greatest hit, rightfully so. Every ps2 owner should own this game.

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Strengths: Deceptively deep, 3-D fighting system, clean, sharp graphics, great character detail and customizable costumes, good loading times

Weakness: Boxed-in, closed arenas, Quest mode could be more creative

This game is a fantastic update to Virtua Fighter 4, bringing nearly every improvable aspect of the original up a notch in terms of excellence (which is impressive, to say the least). The graphics are cleaner, boasting high poly-counts and immense detail. The loading times are VERY fast, and the levels themselves look amazing. The fighting system is still intact, using the same basic premis of...

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (PS2)

Strengths: (1) Great animation - each fighter has a unique and true-to-life fighting style (2) Deep fighting system (3) AI based upon the best VF players

Weakness: (1) Same cheesy voiceovers as previous entries in the series (2) No online play so you better have a friend handy

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution continues the series tradition of presenting a deep fighting system which is rewarding for skilled players who dedicate the time to mastering it. Each character plays differently using their chosen fighting style - all of which are based closely upon and mimic real fighting styles. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is a upgraded re-release of Virtua Fighter 4 but the additions...

VIRTUA FIGHTER 4 EVOLUTION

Strengths: great graphics and gameplay

Weakness: computer can be cheap at times

This game is one of the most popular fighting games out there and still holds its appeal after many years and many other fighting clones made. What makes this game unique is that it tries to be as realistic as possible to actual martial arts in that many of the moves could actually be done in real life. Also, many of the fantastic energy projectiles and blazing attacks found in other fighting...

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution

Strengths: Graphics, extras, sound, gameplay

Weakness: No online

Arguably the best fighting game ever made. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution adds 2 new characters from its previous edition (Virtua Fighter 4). There are many different modes in the game (i.e., Arcade, versus, Quest), but I believe the quest mode is the most engaging. In this mode, you will fight your way through ranks of increasingly difficult fighters. Winning these matches unlocks accessories for...

"It's a matter of course!"

Strengths: great high-quality fighter

Weakness: tough learning curve

VF4e takes some time to get used to if you're new to VF, but it's worth it because deep down, it's one of the best fighting games out there. VF4e also has a great single-player mode where you conquer various arcades in tournaments throughout Japan. It's like Soul Calibur's conquest mode, but better!

The best 3-D fighter I have played.

Strengths: character depth, graphics, replay value

Weakness: requires patience

If you do not own this and are a 3-D fighting fan then you should definitely go pick it up. This is the most finely tuned fighter I have ever had the pleasure of playing. The characters are incredibly deep, and only through immense training will you learn to use each one. The graphics for the characters are beautiful and each stage has it's own little graphical aspect which makes it unique such...

A great arcade port of a great 3-D fighting series!

Strengths: Excellent smooth gameply frame-rates! Graphic still holds up pretty good after 3 yr.

Weakness: Outdate gameply, not many gameply modes.. much better fighting games for the money....

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution could very well be the last game from the series after sega demise form the console world. for it's time, Virtua fighter was the 3D fighter for all 3D fighter to look & play like. but over time the series has gone a step back. with Tekken & DOA games taking spotlight. Pros: Still a fun game for the money. can be had for $10 at retail store! Graphic are still impresive,...

Gameplay evolves as the characters stagnate

Strengths: Virtua Fighter, better than ever. Quest mode. Original Virtua Fighter mode included.

Weakness: Same old characters and arenas

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is the latest in the Virtua Fighter universe. Everything that is good about Virtua Fighter is in its best form here, from graphics to gameplay. Graphics are at once very good and slightly disappointing. The fighters are smooth and detailed and the locations are beautiful. Everything is very polished. Unfortunately, while the arenas look nice from afar, when you're in...

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Last year, Virtua Fighter 4 was released on the PlayStation 2, which many people argue is one of the best fighting games ever. Sega’s development team, AM2, thought that they would improve on every aspect of their game even further, so they decided to release a “sequel” to it. Now that I have played this game, I must say that Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is highly addictive and one of the...

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Ten years ago, Virtua Fighter pioneered something my youthful mind didn't grasp at the time: the next evolution in fighting games, something that would all but replace the likes of Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat II, the two juggernauts that gripped arcades with an iron fist at the time. I just shrugged and went back to SFII. When VF2 hit arcades, it was a totally different story: we were...

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

Virtua Fighter 4 was released in the arcades and the PlayStation 2 to universal acclaim, and with good reason. The game captured everything that made the first two games in the series great in the first place and put a new coat of paint on it, officially upgrading the series for the 21st century. Not long after, Sega released Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution in Japanese arcades, and again later on the...
