Maximum Chase for X-Box

Strengths: Awesome replays, decent graphics, drving and shooting action, funny storyline(unintentional).

Weakness: Bad replay value, really short game, no Xbox live support, bad voice acting.

I was pretty excited to pick up this game, since I like racing and shooting. To its credit the game lets you play a racing level and then you switch to a shooting level so it never becomes repetitive. The storyline is pretty funny (not intential), and the bad but funny FMV cutscenes are there for a good laugh and they look good also. The replays after each level are one of the games strong points...

maximum chase

Strengths: great driving and shooting sequences

Weakness: game is too short

Maximum Chase is a racing and shooting game combined into one, sort of like a hybrid of Burnout and Time Crisis. The premise is very simple: Chase and run away from the bad guys in your sports car and then later, shoot them up while your beautiful partner takes the wheel. This game has great graphics and the cars look very realistic as the creators have paid a great deal of attention to the...

Over-acting, over-dubbing, underwhelming

Strengths: Exciting chase and shooting sequences. Fun, arcade-style game.

Weakness: Short, not much too it,

Maximum Chase is an odd game. It's not bad, by any means, but it's not all that it could be. It feels like an arcade game from a few years back. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are so many games on the XBOX that deliver all of what Maximum Chase offers -- and much more. Maximum Chase is a sequence of action scenes strung together by a flimsy plot. It alternates driving sequences,...

Maximum Chase

Strengths: Decent graphics, fun gameplay, movie replay feature

Weakness: The acting is horrible, no light-gun support, can be beat in an hour, soundtrack is pretty horrendous

Maximum Chase is a pretty enjoyable arcade racing game. The levels alternate from chase sequences, where you are trying to just outrun the bad guys from point A to point B and rail shooting sequences, where you are given a targeting reticule and must shoot as many enemy vehicles and objects as possible. The driving sequences are entertaining and offer a lot of variety and intense moments. There's...

The Chase is On!

Strengths: Nice graphics and sound. Fun arcade gameplay.

Weakness: No 2 player co-op or light gun support. Bad FMV sequences.

Maximum Chase for the Xbox is a fun arcade driving and shooting game. Each mission either has you driving a different vehicles to get away from various pursuers or blasting them "Vitua Cop" style. Both portions are fun but the shooting mode doesn't support the light gun as you would think it would. There is also no co-op mode in this game. This game is very much like Starsky & Hutch so you would...

MAXIMUM CHASE XB

Strengths: Enjoyable gameplay, while it lasts. Driving and shooting, what could be more fun? Cool replays, but that isn't gameplay. Gameplay is silly, but fun. The price is good for what you get.

Weakness: Short game. If you don't enjoy B-movie acting or campiness, you will hate this game. Gameplay is silly, but fun. Graphics look a little old. 2nd tier game.

Maximum chase is a fun game while it lasts. It's a short game, but if it were any longer, would make it get old. The gameplay is just too simple for it to have any depth. So replay value is very low. For the price this game could be had (equivalent to a rental), you might as well pick it up if you are even remotely interested. Enjoy! (if you choose to purchase or even rent)

MAXIMUM CHASE XB

Strengths: Sometimes entertaining above average movie scenes. Simple yet fun levels. Cool replay of level after completed in movie like angles.

Weakness: Graphics inconsisten some nice detail in cars but lacking in backgrounds and scenery. Pretty short game and not much incentive to go throught it again. Somewhat bad acting for movie clips.

Maximum chase, a older game in its own right still holds up for a nice afternoon or two of fun. Game can be found for cheap in many places so you cant really go wrong getting it for 10 bucks. Movie scenes are kinda bac but in somewhat of a old b movie feel to it. The game is entertaining first time through which consists of about 10 levels. The levels are pretty fun and offer a good time, also...

MAXIMUM CHASE XB

Strengths: Live action cutscenes, cars show damage as you crash them, decent in-game graphics

Weakness: Control somewhat unresponsive, poor quality acting, "graphics before game play" mentality

Maximum Chase saw release near the Xbox system's launch in Japan, but it took several years for the game to find its way stateside. The developer did a decent job of showcasing the early graphical capabilities of Xbox as the cars and chase scenes look great, but the "graphics before game play" mentality becomes obvious here because of the poor quality acting and limited control response. The...

MAXIMUM CHASE XB

Strengths: "So bad they're good" cutscenes

Weakness: Third-rate gameplay and graphics

If you enjoy B-movies, you might enjoy the FMV scenes (featuring real "actors") in Maximum Chase. Otherwise, the game has little to offer. Maximum Chase's gameplay is composed of alternating driving and shooting segments, but both are executed very poorly. Sloppy, unresponsive controls and an unpredictable frame rate are the main culprits here. Fortunately, the whole experience is over before you...
