PNY GeForce FX 5900 Ultra Video Card
Strengths: Fast, 2x the amount memory of most cards
Weakness: missing alot of 3d rendering techniques
I bought this card, anticipating the best - 256 megs - hmmm, not quite - not even close
I kept it for only 3 weeks, as explosion scenes, shadows, details and color depth weren't up to snuff compared to my old ATI 8500...although it was alot faster....also the antialiasing wasn't 'good enough' for the money spent on it.
I exchanged it for a much cheaper 128 meg card due to the inavaliable games that use 128 megs effectively much less 256...
The card I got instead was an ATI 9800 pro; WOOOOW!! The games I play took on a whole new dimension!!! Antialiasing - much NICEer, color is richer and more natural, explosions look VERY realistic and frame rate is smooth as butter.
my benchmarks showed the 5900 ultra peaking a little faster in a few titles... but the framerates on those games from the ATI card is more consistant and smoother with better visual quality.
