Strengths: It's more of that wonderful Katamari fun.
Weakness: Not much different from the first game.
We Love Katamari takes a slightly different approach, as you play the Prince, whose fulfilling requests (missions) from your loyal fans, which makes up the entire games. This leads to some very creative levels and the same level of entertainment that the original brought. Add in multiplayer that forces friends to work together rolling one katamari as big as they can get it and you've got more value to the package that is We Love Katamari.

Strengths: Awesome and quirky gameplay, great soundtrack, budget priced.
Weakness: Hard co-op controls, simplistic graphics for some, too outlandish for some.
We Love Katamari is more of the same good old roll stuff up gameplay we loved from Katamari Damacy. This game once again delivers a great soundtrack and more areas to roll around in. This game is ahead of its predecessor in terms of multiplayer. A co-op mode is now included which lets two people roll a katamari ball together. From personal experience though this does not go smoothly and may cause frustration at the game and/or your partner. Overall, this is a perfect compliment to the Katamari series.
Strengths: Original design. Quirky gameplay . Many modes of play
Weakness: None
We Love Katamari is the sequel to the smash hit, Katamari Damacy. The gameplay is pretty much the same as the first. It does however have more modes of play. Single player , battle mode, and cooperative. I enjoyed this game as much as the first. Long live the King and Prince of the Cosmos.
We Love Katamari is a great sequel to the surprise hit Katamari Damacy. The gameplay is as good, if not better, than the first game with varied objects. The control is refined a bit and there are lot more levels now.
We Love Katamari is fun and entertaining that can add hours of fun to the family. If you have the first game, pick this up too. If you don't, you should pick both games up!
The first Katamari was the rare game that is equal parts simple and yet deeply brilliant, appealing to both male and female gamers. Rolling stuff up in a ball is incredibly satisfying. And being able to collect myriad items adds to the replay value. We Love Katamari does not stray from the formula, instead serving as a giant expansion pack. But in this case, more of the same with a few tweaks is perfect. The camera is a little improved, level designs deeper and variation of collectible items has grown. If you liked the first (or have never played katamari) this is a must-own.
Strengths: Sequel to the surprise hit Katamari Damacy with more-varied objectives
Weakness: If you didn't like the first, this is mostly more of the same
Katamari Damacy was the reason I bought a Playstation 2. The quirky game with the ball that rolls up every day objects for the bizarre King of All Cosmos character, all set to upbeat music, was just a blast to play. We Love Katamari is a direct sequel that keeps to the formula but throws in a few little twists to spice it up a bit. The general gameplay mechanic is refined just a bit, and there are more levels to this game than the first. Also, some of the objectives are a bit different (like rolling up fire or lights instead of just the normal objects).
Basically, I would recommend this game (and the first one) to any Playstation 2 owner. And certainly if you liked the first one, the second is an obvious buy.
Strengths: Simple, but fun concept and addictive gameplay. Catchy tunes. Relatively kid friendly.
Weakness: Game is way too short
How much more simple can a game be. Employing tank controls, you as the Prince (or cousins once unlocked) roll a katamari (ball) around picking up things, animals and people until you have met the requirements set by the King of All Cosmos. Once that is done, the King will convert your katamari into a planet or star. That is pretty much the entire game. There are a couple of unlockables, not including the cousins that are merely aesthetics. Overall the game was fun and enjoyable.
If you liked Katamari Darmacy, you will love We Love Katamari. This game is based on the exact same gameplay as the first game. The developers tweaked the storyline a bit, but it is basically roll the sticky ball and pick up as much stuff as you can. This game wins on it's original concept and is extremely addictive. New stages have been added with completely insane concepts. This is one of the most unique games I have ever played and I definitely recommend it.
Weakness: Not that much diffrent than the first game.
Do you love Katamari? Did you roll up the whole world and were left wanting more? Well, the King of all Cosmos heard your cry of desire. Here's a game of more stuff for you to roll up. The Prince is charged with meeting earthlings' special Katamari requests. You must meet these requests of size, content, or speed. This game isn't very diffrent than the last game. There's a few tweaks here and there, but it's basicly just rolling Katimaris to order. And if you were desireing more to roll, then here you go!
Strengths: More Katamari fun, the quirky king, new modes
Weakness: Not much different from the first one.
Lovers of the original Katamari know exactly what they're getting into when they pick up this game. If you haven't played the first one, no worries. There is nothing important that happens in the original that keeps you from playing this one. The game play is exactly the same (using the 2 joysticks to control the movement of your katamari) and the storyline... well it's weird. lol. But seriously, this is one of those games that most people will love and a few will hate. I don't really think there's any in between. On top of the regular gameplay there's also a vs. mode (not very good) and a co-op mode. The co-op mode is definitely fun/interesting since you're both controlling the same katamari. one pushes on the left side and one the right side. It leads to some frustration (one person wants to go this way, the other that way) and a lot of hilarity.
If you played the first Katamari game called Katamari Damacy, it's pretty much the same thing. All you do is roll the ball around and pick up stuff around you. It will get bigger and bigger to get even more bigger stuff to pick up with your ball. This time there are new levels and new stuff to pick up. There is also a multiplayer mode. It is like a VS mode. Whoever makes the biggest ball wins.
Strengths: Added levels, new things to collect, new storyline, new music
Weakness: More of the same gameplay :(
If you've played Katamari Damacy, you know exactly what to expect from this game... well sort of. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game plays exactly like its predecessor. You'll be rolling around collecting stuff and doing so within a set amount of time. Of course, things were changed and updated (level designs, soundtrack, etc.). The one thing you'll notice right away is that the storyline is hilarious and new. Unfortunately, there isn't enough "new-ness" to make this game as perfect as the first one was. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this game to anybody and everybody who can get their hands on it.
Strengths: Unique idea for a game with an addictive edge
Weakness: The unique idea is pretty much the same as it was in Katamari Damacy
We Love Katamari is a quirky action puzzle game just the same as it was in Katamari Damacy were you roll around a ball that picks up stuff and gets bigger as you go around picking up stuff.
We Love Katamari is very well done and fans of Katamari Damacy will enjoy it but the fact that it's very much the same without adding much at all to the gameplay will make it so that it's not as exciting as Katamari Damacy was when you first played it. We Love Katamari could have also had more incentive to replay the game once you finish it.
With all this being said I would still highly recommend We Love Katamari as it's still a lot of fun and is cheaper then most games (retailing for $30 at release) it could have been so much better though if Namco really stepped it up and added more gameplay elements & modes to the sequel probably changing my score from a 4 to a 5 if they had more to plumpin up the game.
Katamari is all about rolling things up. If you loved the first game you will love this one. Who doesn't love rolling over cows with a giant ball of rubbish? Get this game, and get ready to have a blast.

Last year one of the most unique games that I have played in a long time hit the American shores. Anyone who played this game almost instantly fell in love with its unique and quirky gameplay. The game I am referring to, of course, is Katamari Damacy. Since this game was such a big hit, it was only a matter of time before Namco created a sequel. Now that it is finally here, how does this gameplay...
