Strengths: Graphics are a nice upgrade, ragdoll physics are lots of fun, the story and voice acting are great, even more fun than the original, different game modes are a nice diversion
Weakness: A little too short
With newer graphics, including some great ragdoll physics, this is a good sequel to the original Max Payne. The story is even better this time around, and the voice acting is definately excellent.
The story is a little short compared to the original, though once you're through it, some additional game modes give it some nice replay value.
If you liked the first one, this one is definately worth picking up. If you haven't played the first one, there's enough story backgrounded in the beginning to pick up with just the second.

Weakness: Short game length but can vary difficulty levels
The Fall of Max Payne is the sequel to the original Max Payne game by Rockstar. Like the first game, the game is a first person shooter (FPS) with a storyline that plays like a comic book. The storyline is gritty and mature with sex and drug content as well as a conspiracy theory intertwined from the first game. The graphics and level design for the game are good. Unlike the first game, there are no tedious psychotic levels that dragged down the pacing. The game is short but it's quite a ride when you're playing. So take some painkillers and buy it. It's well worth the price.
Strengths: Good story, graphics have been improve over the 1st Max Payne
Weakness: Short game with very little incentive to play though it again
Just as the First Max Payne was Max Payne 2 The Fall of Max Payne is a port of the popular 3rd person shooter made for PC then Ported to the cosole systems & in this case the Xbox. Max Payne 2 story wise picks up afew years after the first Max Payne has ended with Max finding out that his past is coming back to haunt him as he can't avoid his past and will find himself having to face it head on. The atmosphere that the game provides is very well done and a much added plus has not only does the game present fast shooting action but an interesting well & done story to go along with it. Max Payne 2's action still strongly relies on it's bullet time effect which will slow down enemies when you enable it and help you take on swarms of enemies which would normally be too overbearing if you were to try and take them on head on in a gunfight and is still done better then other games which have tried to imitate the same effect but haven't been able to do so as well or better then Max Payne. The only major short coming with Max Payne 2 is very much like the first Max Payne the game is rather short clocking in at about 9 hours tops for most gamers. I would highly recommend Max Payne 2 to though who like 3rd person shooters & haven't played it yet as not only does it have a white knuckle shooting action but it also has a good story to boot as extra incentive to keep you interested in the game as you play though it.
Strengths: Very similar to the first game, engaging story and gameplay.
Weakness: Tricks like bullet time no longer seem as fresh.
The first Max Payne was a great action title, some freshness that came out of left field. The second time around never quite captures that revolutionary moment the first time you used bullet time. You know, when you just had to show a friend or roommate nearby and they immediately wanted to try it out for themselves. Still MP2 puts forth a valiant effort and maintains the noir feel. Some have knocked the length of the game. Since you can save onthefly anywhere, it sideskirts the monotonous replay some games stick the player with. So the overall game can be flown through in under 10 hours. For me, the ability to save anywhere and the length of the game is perfect. I simply do not have the time to slog through days worth of gameplay, and hate having to replay long clips over and over. Add in that this game can now be easily had for under $10 and it is a solid buy. If you liked the first, this may be a letdown, but not by much.
Weakness: Main character design has changed for the worst and its a short game.
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is a 3rd person action/shooter for XBOX. You play as Max Payne in the sequel to Max Payne. The game looks good and the physics used on the bodies is fun to play with. The main thing I didn't like about the game is the character designs of Max have changed to look like some middle-aged old fart. He looks nothing like the original Max Payne design.
Give the game 3 stars for being an average shooter.
Weakness: More of the same, and it's pretty short.
Did you already play and finish Max Payne? If not, this isn't the game for you. It's more of the same, plain and simple. And, it's over quick. If you did like Max Payne, though, this is exactly what you want. It's really just more levels and a new story on the old game.
Just like the first, the game is a shoot-em-up blast. A little short compared to most games but the graphics are much improved over the first. If you liked Max Payne you'll enjoy this one as well.
Strengths: Interesting story, an aging Max, improved in-game physics and cinematics
Weakness: Not the same Max from the original, limited replay value, still too short
The original Max Payne had unique digitized graphics that placed a person's face onto the videogame characters. Max himself was also relatively young and full of ambition as well, but Max 2 finds our hero a bit older and not necessarily any wiser. The digitized graphics have been replaced with standard in-game models, and our hero has been given a love interest in the way of a lady hitman. The graphics are also marginally improved, but it's still the same game you've played before. Mainstream audiences weren't too excited by this package as a whole, which means you can now find it at a bargain basement price. If you enjoyed the first game, you'll probably be happy with the sequel. Just don't expect it to surpass the original.
You wouldn't think that one of the most action-packed third-person shooters of 2003 would revolve around a love story, but Max Payne 2, in fact, centers around the complicated relationship between Max and his female accomplice, Mona Sax. Don't worry, though — the lovey-dovey bits are mixed with a great deal of violence and shooting, complete with awesome visual effects. Max Payne 2 has some of the best shootouts you'll find in an action game, but the game ends rather abruptly. Much like this review.
this is the sequel to rockstar/remedy's hit Max payne. In this 3rd person shooter, you control Max with all his assortment's of guns and other assorted tools. The gameplay is standard run and gun affair, graphics are adequate but nothing to write home about. Only buy this game if you find it for under 5.99
This first person shooter is a sequal to one of the best games on the XBOX. Max Payne 2 brings back everything you loved (or hated) from Max Payne 1. The storyline of this game is really interesting and the gameplay is pretty good making it a nice game to pick up. The biggest drawback of this game was the length. It was amazingly short and should have been much longer. Since you can find the game for around 10 dollars at many places now, so the length isn't too bad for that price.

There are some things that will never stop haunting a man no matter what changes occur in his life. Sometimes a man can never really shake the dark cloud that seems to follow overhead no matter how hard he tries to run from it. For men like Max Payne this dark cloud shrouds him like a cloak and he is haunted by the ghosts of loved ones lost to violence. Once again, Max Payne sets out to seek his...
When the original Max Payne came out in 2001, it was hailed for its storytelling, visuals, and gritty noir setting. The eponymous hero wreaked bloody vengeance upon the corporation responsible for the murders of his wife and daughter, but Max was painted as a hero thanks to a powerful man named Alfred Woden, the head of an inner circle of Illuminati-type power players. Yet although Max found some...
