Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 200 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: easy to use,large size,after i update the bios,it is easy to use,not like seagate

Weakness: noise is a bit larger

easy to use,large size I can store a lot of music and movie file and don't need to bury a lot of cd,after i update the bios,it is easy to use,not like seagate hard to install,noise is a bit larger.

Just an ordinary drive...

Strengths: -200GB -8mb cache -ata133

Weakness: -not the new 16mb cache -not SATA -not a good warranty (1 yr)

There is not much to say about this drive. It was slightly more difficult than other drives to install, but it was not bad by any means. It could be the new SATA or a 16mb cache drive, but I sacrificed for the price. Bottom line: good for a cheap drive but if you want performance get a WD Raptor drive instead of this...

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 200 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: Fast. Big space. Quiet.

Weakness: Need to struggle with motherboard setting to use SATA.

This HDD uses latest ATA technology, Serial ATA. It's maximum transfer rate is 150MB/sec, faster than UATA133. Even though PCI system bus limits its speed at most 133MB/sec, it is good to use thinner cable and not struggle with flat, short and wider cable.

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 200 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: Fast, Big and Cheap.

Weakness: None so far

I needed more space for video, previously I'd been buring data to dvd, but this is much faster and leaves my data easier to access. It comes with ultra ata cable and installation CDRom.
(Need the Ultra ata cable to get U-ATA mode)
Unlike my seagate drive the electronics underneath are exposed, (probably helps dissipate heat) so take care handling it.

Strengths: great size

Weakness: noise a bit louder

large size,easy install,good quality,I can download a lot of songs and movies.it made me remember the old quantum
like it pretty much,
noise is a big louder,hoping it will keep quite.hoping the reading speed will go faster.
