Viewtiful Joe Is Back And Ready To Spring Into...

Viewtiful Joe 2 is the same idea as the first game in which it offers a ton of action gameplay along with a cel-shaded look that is a cross between a comic book and a movie.

You will be playing as Viewtiful Joe but a long with that you can also switch him out during the gameplay and also play as his girlfriend Silvia who is armed with a gun that she can use.

I would highly recommend Viewtiful Joe 2 to fans of the first game or anyone that likes side scrolling action games as it's easily one of the best action games on the GameCube.

Strengths: great cel shaded graphics

Weakness: tough puzzles and gameplay

VIEWTIFUL JOE 2 is a side scrolling fighting game for the Gamecube. It is a sequel to the smash hit and has the same type of gameplay. The only thing that is new is the ability to play as ur girlfriend Sylvia, who has the same powers as u , along with the “Replay” power, which allows u to repeat a certain attack for added damage. She also moves faster than Joe and does not punch w/ fist but instead wields 2 laser pistols to do damage. U use ur VFX powers, which allow u to slow or speed up time, which helps u defeat the many enemies that will certainly overwhelm u. u also use said powers to solve certain puzzles in the game, which can get pretty hard, because u have to figure out how to solve it, and then have the precision and timing to use ur powers to solve the puzzle. U can also switch to Sylvia w/ a press of a buttonesi U also have a good arsenal of punches, kicks and strikes, which when combined w/ ur VFX abilities, can make u a pretty deadly opponent. This game looks exactly like its predecessor, except with tougher puzzles and gameplay. Overall, it is a good game and I recommend getting it.

Weakness: Can be difficult, doesnt seem to add much compared to original

Viewtiful Joe was a great and original game when it debuted on the Gamecube, and VJ2 delivers more of the same action. Some new additions include a 2nd character in the game which you can switch to during gameplay. If you liked the original VJ, most likely you'll love the sequel as well. The graphics are as good as ever and the game is still challenging, although maybe easier compared to the original.

Early screen shots of Viewtiful Joe revealed next to nothing about the enigmatic superhero. Apart from his penchant for skintight clothes and a curiously flamboyant demeanor, that is. But it was enough to pique the curiosity of all who saw them. It certainly had us scratching our heads.
