Strengths: Co-op play, Character Creation, Leveling system, Challenges to meet.
Weakness: Incredibly short story mode, buggy companion AI, too much night vision
Vegas 2 is exactly what it comes across as, an expanded sequel to the first game. There are many nice little touches that have obviously been put in as a result of community feedback, as well as some attributes taken from other recent FPS titles.
The new co-op mode to the story is really a fantastic addition. It pretty much features the Gears of War style drop-in/out setup, where the host will never feel any gameplay halt when a friend is invited. The problem, however, is that the story mode is perhaps 4-6 hours long at most. Additionally, there are times where the AI teammates are required to progress the level, and if you don't watch them like hawks they will get stuck on doors and require you to physically go and move them to get them back to you.
The rest of the content feels pretty much the same, except with more of a stylized filter on the graphics.

amazing! i love this game! im a fan of the series. i love the level design and the level content. the online play was good and the multiplayer i didnt like that it was only two players. terroist hunt i got board with. to say the truth i liked the campagain more than the online play. this is WAY BETTER than rainbow six vegas one. i thought there was a major improvement in the campagin no lag and the missions arent boring and lacking in action.
Strengths: Great tactical shooter
Good challenge
Fun environments and mission structure
Weakness: Slow paced
Quick deaths from enemy headshots
Online play lobbies could be better organized
I have been a fan of all the Tom Clancy games on the XBOX 360, but Rainbow Six Vegas 2 stands-out as the pinnacle of these games. It is more of an enhancement of the first Rainbow Six Vegas, than a true sequel, but it is a great game with some really fun environments and a great perk system that keeps you playing online and off. Graphics are slightly improved, but the new perks system called ACES is a great way to score play and provide perks for better play. The tactical nature of these games does require some patience, you cannot just run into the room and expect to live very long, but that almost adds a puzzle approach to the gameplay that can be very rewarding. I have not spent much time with the online play, because I really do not like the lobby interface. I'll stick to COD 4 and more recently Battlefield: Bad Company for my multiplayer shooter fun, but this game should not be missed by any shooter fan and I would recommend it over the first game to those new to the series.
The Rainbow Six team is back to save Vegas once again. Vegas 2 is pretty much a refined version of the first game. Everything from controls, A.I., and level designs have been tighten up and improved. Besides the new locales in story mode, the biggest addition to this sequel is the option to customize your character for story mode. Through online matches or story mode, you can earn experience points to level your character up RPG style and unlock new equipment and tools. Overall, if you enjoy the first Vegas, you'll love Vegas 2. Online matches is sweet!!!
Strengths: incredible graphics, great enemy AI,and a great new character customization!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weakness: Buggy Friendly AI,and low voice volume.
I would say that Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is a well put game, but has some noticable weaknesses {Like every other video game known to man.}In my opinion I would say that Rainbow Six:Vegas 2 focuses mainly on multiplayer and CO-OP but has a good camppaign.
Strengths: Offline and Online Co-op Play. XP and Skill Points.
Weakness: "Realistic" Difficulty level seems too easy.
I picked this game up as soon as it was released. I was a huge fan of the first series and this series is improved upon. The XP system works well. You still get XP from your teammates kills. There are A LOT of upgrades available in this game and I am still working on them. The way to upgrade is through 3 different kill requirements: Close Quarter Combat, Marksman, and Assault. You gain points by doing different tasks which fall under each category. The ability to dash is a plus. The online play is a huge improvement with some old maps with a lot of new maps included. There are a variety of modes to play. I like the ability to jump into any game instead of having to wait for a timer countdown or for a specific number of players to join before the game even starts. The online play is HUGE improvement over the first Rainbow Six.
The campaign plays well, yeah, there really isn’t any “Vegas” involved but that doesn’t have any negative affects on game play. One gripe is that the difficulty level could be taken up a notch. I’m not good at tactical FPS but I was able to “breeze” through realistic mode too easily I think. One last note worth mentioning, the commands to control you’re A.I. teammates is very easy to use which comes handy when you’re in the heat of battle. Overall, anyone looking for a great offline and online co-op shooter game should add this game to their collection.
Strengths: It is a well made game. I love it when the enemy yells at you.
Weakness: The game play seems a little repetative. It's pretty much the same plot over and over, the only thing that changes is the location where it takes place.
The graffics could have more detail and the story line could be a little more complicated but these shortcomings are made up by the game play. It's very realistic and still a lot of fun to play with friends online.
Strengths: great graphics, fun game, co-op feature, extra missions a plus
Weakness: short storyline, quite a few stages that are dark and harder to see
Although I didn't play Vegas 1, Vegas 2 was lots of fun. Though its a great game, I think that they could do better at making the storyline way longer. I wish that they had put in a choice to have more health because when I first played I died almost instantly!
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is more a continuation of the first game, rather than a new and innovative sequel. The gameplay has largely remained unchanged, but if you enjoyed clearing out rooms of terrorists with your three man squad before, you are likely to welcome the new levels. The co-op in this game supports two people playing throughout the entire game and along with the online multiplayer and varying difficulty levels, this game will find it's way in your Xbox 360 tray a lot.
Strengths: Good Co-op and terrorists hunt gameplay. Decent graphics and AI. ACES experience/leveling system.
Weakness: No 4 players co-op play, short campaign mode, too similiar to the original.
The biggest problem that most will have with Vegas 2 is that it doesn’t differentiate itself enough from the first. It doesn’t feel like an expansion pack exactly–-it’s more than that--but it doesn’t feel like a full-fledged sequel either. For those who haven’t taken a stroll down the streets of Sin City than you needn’t look any further than Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but those looking for a sequel that surpasses the original in everyway imaginable will be disappointed
RAinbow Six 2 is the highly anticipated sequal to Tainbow Six Vegas. Graphics are amazing, while gameplay is also amazing. Campaign is fun, but the meat of the game is its multiplayer mode. Overall, this game is good for those who want an awesome shooter game.
Strengths: -Xbox Live modes
-Lots of action
-ACES Challenges
Weakness: -Dumb AI
-Short story mode
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is more of an add-on to the first game. The game plays basically the same as the first. There are not many new additions and the environments are less flashy compared to the first game. There is also an annoying problem with buggy AI and sometimes weird views when coming out of cover. However, this is still a good game especially if you liked the first one. The multilayer modes are great and the new ACES challenges provides more replay value.
Strengths: 2-player co-op in main story mode, ACES experience/leveling system persists throughout single and mutli-player modes, great cover mechanic, fun online play
Weakness: feels more like an expansion to the original than a brand new game, graphics are average compared to some other current gen heavy hitters, no 4-player co-op in main story
I'm not going to go into too much detail here because in all honesty, if you've played the first Rainbow Six Vegas then you'll know exactly what to expect. Rather than picking up directly where the first left off, this one takes places before, during, and after the events of the original. The action is still tense and fun, the cover mechanic is still one of the best I've seen, and the weapons and tactics are still awesome. The experience and leveling system is improved, with 3 categories in which you can improve: close quarters combat, assault, and marksmanship. The best thing about this leveling system (called ACES) is that you have one persistent character which you build upon in both the single player campaign as well as multiplayer games. The multiplayer is just as fun as it was in the original and provides countless hours of fun replay value to the game. Although the improvements that have been made are certainly welcome, the game overall still feels like an expansion to the original game than a full blown sequel. Having said that, you should definitely pick it up if you were a fan of the original.
If you were a fan of the first Rainbow Six this is more of the same in a lot of ways. The addition of the A.C.E.S system where you can level your characther up in 3 catagories is one of the only real improvements. Online coop has gone from 4 down to 2 players which is a big step backwards for me. I have just started the single player mode but so far nothing really spectacular. If you are looking for a new tactical shooter its probably worth picking up just dont expect to much. Nothing ground breaking here.
Strengths: Slightly better graphics especially on multi-player, better leveling system, deep multi-player and good single player.
Weakness: Not too much difference from the first, Graphics not up to par for the 360.
Like most people are terming this game, it's just an expensive expansion pack from the first game. It only has a slight upgrade on the single player graphics and the multi player graphics are now on par with the SP.
The best part is though that the game is still a blast to play on SP and MP. The SP mode pretty intense along with the MP matches. Cover system was great on the first, so not too much was tweaked there.
MP now has a system close to what Call of Duty has in that you get points for shooting far away or close up or a grenade killing of many people. Experience points can now easily be tracked during game play now.
I just traded in the first installment and purchase this one for $40 at Fry's, so it didn't cost me much to get this. All in all it is still a great purchase no matter the price.

Last year’s Rainbow Six: Vegas was a great entry to the franchise and a stellar debut for the series on the Xbox 360. It had all of the pieces for compelling action gameplay, from great story elements to fantastic gameplay. Now the sequel is gearing up for release, and the results don’t stray too far from the original’s formula. However, that’s not a bad thing, as the game instead chooses...
More of the same, with some improvements
