Strengths: -Zombies (if you like Zombies)
-Online Play
-Each game is never the same
-Dosnt get old easily
-High replay value
Weakness: -Zombies (if you dont like Zombies)
-Short campaigns
-Minor gliches
Left 4 Dead is every Zombie lovers game and is made by Valve the people who brought you Half-Life 2 and Portal. With four campaigns ranging from Rural forested area to Urban cities. In each Campaign the object for you and your team is to fight through the hordes of zombies and get out alive. There are four survivors for you to choose from. The game includes three modes Single Player where your and three AI controlled teammates go through the campaign. Online Campaign the way L4D was meant to play where you and three people run through the campaign. Also Versus where there are four survivors and four player controlled special Infected. The four survivors attempt to make to the next safe room before the player controlled infected get to them. All of these modes make for an addictive game and with random spawn points for weapon and enemies its never the same game twice. On the Down side the four campaign are rather short with a good team you could easily get through a campaign in 45 minutes. This does not ruin the game however with the random spawns of enemies and weapons the same campaigns you've played before are completely different. Also there are a few collision problems with doors and other survivors but they are easily ignored.
Overall this game is a must for zombie fans and for those who are not into zombies give this a rent to see if you like it. 8.5/10

Strengths: "Infinite" replay value, great online gameplay with co-op and versus modes, zombie movie action translated into a game, good graphics and sounds, frantic action
Weakness: Much more of a multiplayer game than a single player game
Left 4 Dead is a zombie movie translated into a game. The single player campaign works as an "intro" to the multiplayer game, where the player fights against hordes of zombies with three AI-controlled companions. There are also "special" types of zombies that try to get the players with special attacks, such as smoke, a prehensile tongue or vomit. There are multiple "acts" in the levels, spaced out like acts in a movie. Running behind the scenes is an AI "director" which adjusts the gameplay level of the game appropriately against how the players are working to fight the hordes of zombies. The single-player campaign can also be played as a co-op campaign with up to three others via Xbox Live. Also, there is a "versus" mode where eight players play against one another in groups of four, human survivors against four "special" zombies, and the two groups switch off between one another for each round.
It's a very good single player game, if a bit short, and each pass through the single player game is different with the AI director. The real replay value in the game is the near-infinite multiplayer options with co-op and versus modes. Any action gamer should have this game.
Introduced on November 18th 2008, Left 4 Dead is an online zombie survival game by Valve. Based on the source engine, the online multiplayer aspect is the main attraction on the game - pitting 4 user survivors of a zombie apocalypse against hoards of zombie cannon fodder and 4 "infected" super mutants - also played by real people. The point of the game is for the survivors to make their way...
