Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: It works every time!

Weakness: The user wizard can be a little confusing to novice users

I've tried many different cd burning programs. This is the one I end up recommending to every one. Its a must have. All these other programs will at one time or another give you problems this one will be problem free for you.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: none

Weakness: a very bad product, many better ones on the market

Almost any burning program I have tried is better than this one. I build computers for a living, and also work as a IT manager for a fair size company. I bought this because it was SUPPOSE to burn video better than what I am using now. To date, it has done nothing but make DVD coasters!! Believe what you wish to believe, but I FOR ONE dont work for their company, or sell their products. So you decide.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Look good at first

Weakness: kept showing the written files to be written again

Made my system unstable. CD -DVD operating on XP Pro was completely knocked out. Lost all data from Hard Drive when tried to use the restore package that came with Sony Laptop.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: I donot know

Weakness: No technical support can be reached.

Nero = Zero technical support.

If you are a beginner, it will be difficult to use the software when you have any problem. No technician can be reached to help you to resolve the problem. This will waste you a lot of time!

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Easy to use, robust, "kid proof"

Weakness: Manual not on CD

After various problems with Easy CD Creator, I switched to Nero. The "buffer underruns" I constantly got with Easy CD Creator disappeared, and I was able to burn CDs with no problems. This software is the best CD burning software for the average user.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Easy to use, burns all files without questions asked, frequently updated and available off the Internet.

Weakness: Nero Express, the easier, faster, interface isn't included on the CD-ROM.

I used NTI's CD-Burning software and that wouldn't even burn mp3's right, it'd give me wacky errors and I tried those same files with Nero and they worked successfully. The main interface is indeed more powerful and more indepth, but the other version, Nero Express is fast, easy and can do just as much. It's too bad it's not on the installation CD though. Nero Burning ROM rocks and it's the perfect CD-Burning software for anyone to use.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Many options, works well

Weakness: Few

This product works very well, and not too difficult to figure out. It is amazing to read the reports of highly p.o.ed users. Their skill with the English language is most likely equal to of their cognitive abilities - and one can only summize they have trouble ordering pizza also.

I found the Nero-5 an excellent program, no toasters, and the options I need.

Toodles...

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: EVERYTHING (including the fact that it is NOT moron-proof - ala AOL and crappy burning programs like EZ CD Creator)

Weakness: refreshes file lists if downloads are occurring...just a slight annoyance

Nero offers a wealth of options that few, if any, other burning programs offer. This includes being able to overburn (up to 99:59 for CDs, unsure about DVDs), an included mp3 decoder, support for 10 or more different CD formats as well as the sub-formats of each, a feature that allows you to print the contents for a CD cover, a program to test disc integrity, a program to test CD drive transfer speeds (read/write/rewrite), as well as virtually every single feature that one would ever need to burn.

I've used various burning software and the only one to provide me with coaster-free operation has been Nero, while others often spit out 1/3 of my CD-Rs as useless frisbees. I've never had any problems with Nero and plan to use it as long as it continues to be made.

Thanks to ahead for some quality software.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: It supports all the formats / features of my Yamaha CRW-F1E CD Recorder.

Weakness: Not at all intuitive.

Although I am new to burning Cd's, I am not new to using computers. Using Nero Burning ROM 5.5 was not very straight forward if one were to not use the wizard. Since I wanted more control over what formats were being used and just wanted to know what all the settings were, I choose not to use the wizard. The documentation for the various features such as CD-TEXT and was inadequate. I have burned six Cd's and I am still trying to figure out how the CD-TEXT and user database(s) work. Yes, I checked the appropriate "Write CD Text" box. The CD text shows up in the NERO browser, but does not display when playing the Cd's.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: frequent updates available online

Weakness: InCD has many dll conflicts which require rebooting

this product will allow the full version usage only for the cd-rw with which it was originally packaged. my new dvd+r/rw drive will not work with this software as it is blocked by the software until I buy the full version online.

if you buy the full version outright, it should work with all your recordable drives....

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: NONE that I can think of.

Weakness: The entire program

I am no novice when it comes to following instructions with computer hardware and programs but I will admint to being new to burning my own CD's. This program came with a a new QPS burner I purchased and so far I have been completely frustrated with trying to burn cd files and audio cd's. The instructions are reasonably clear for the first 2 or 3 steps then you begin to get screens and options that the step by step instructions do not even mention. By trial and error I somehow managed to copy 10 files onto a cd so far but all the rest of my attempts at copying music and other files have failed. If you are looking for a simple and straight forward program to copy cd's NERO is not what you want.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Weakness: Too many options, no support to inquire about options

Re: Nero CD burning by Ahead. As stated in the PC World review, this software has alot of options for use. However, figuring out how to use them takes either alot of ingenuity or alot of trial and error to figure out. Emails to Ahead with questions have gone unanswered. Thus, there appears to be zero support for Nero. The "Help" files are OK, but often end with "Good Luck". You'll need it with this software.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: very easy to use drag and drop what could be easier

Weakness: have not found any yet.

The wizards make it easy for beginners. But if thats not your bag you dont have to use them. you can just jump right in.
its all drag and drop file creation. And it burns really fast. I
burned 72 minutes in like 5 0r 10 minutes. I have not had to use tech support so I dont know about that yet. But at there web site there are more detailed help files. There is a lot of good support right at there site. You just have to look around
alittle. I would recomend this for beginners and pros. Any ways if it where to easy you would not learn anything.
Good Hunting!

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Everything about the program!

Weakness: None!

Well first things first, you have to know what you are doing to use this software. You can't be stupid like some people (below). I have used Nero for over 2 years now and i love it. It is the most reliable, and fastest burning software that i have ever used. To tell you the truth it isn't even hard to use it at all. I never even read the instructions. Just loaded it and went. This software is ten times better than adaptec, and faster. Anyone who is not a complete idiot can learn to use it.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: This software has many that are better than Adaptec, Roxio, NDI, etc.

Weakness: The only one that is irritating is if your doing a download; the directory folder your using is always changing and drives you nuts trying to catch the file to burn.

For the bit brains who gave this software a bad rep; go back to your aol...
You don't even know what your are doing.
I bet you don't know or even checked to see if your ASPI layers are fully installed and updated???
You wonder why your disks turn into coasters while your picking your nose and scratching you butt; that is the problem.
This software will also handle multipule cd burners and burn all of them at the same time.
This software will also convert MP3 to wav files to burn audio cd's and you can play them in your car or home stereo.
I have even had great sucess with over burning with this software.
I have used most burning software on the market and cost allot of $$; most were not as promised and a waste of money.
Before you bad mouth any software; and the bad mouthing done by these ignorante people who were dumb enough to show everyone their real itelligence level; USE IT, and before USIN IT; READ THE INSTRUCTIONS....
P.S. This to this web site; It really chaps my butt when web bugs are being attempted installed on my system and the stupid pop up window to download....TURN IT OFF....

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: not discovered yet

Weakness: manual and wizard not clear

I received this for a gift for Christmas and have yet to get it to work. Installation went smooth but as another person wrote the instructions leave me unclear as to how to operate - burn - anything!!

I am discouraged when I read on this site that help is not available. I'm afraid this was a waste for me. Maybe, I can buy another that is not so confusing.

Nero Burning ROM v.5.5

Strengths: Burns CD's quickly, and is compatible with Win 95.

Weakness: Ate Windows ME, and made the system completely unstable.

The documentation leaves a lot to be desired. The help files for the average user are extremely cryptic.(And end with "GOOD LUCK".... What's that?)
My sister also purchased a new burner, one that was rated in the top 5 from PC World, and received the software for Nero. She had loads of problems, beginning with AOL and ending with a complete restore of her entire system.... I will tell you this, Windows ME users. BEWARE... back up your files immediately following the installation.
