Huge difference in image quality

Strengths: Easy upgrade to install, and resulting images and text sharper and more vivid

Weakness: Expensive!

I had just purchased a new 42" Philips LCD TV and tried connecting the RCA cable set that came with our old PS2. Needless to say, the image was terrible unless you sized down the screen to match the feed from the PS2, but what's the point of having a bigger TV if you can't enjoy a bigger picture right

Cable worked as advertised. Great price and delivery...

Strengths: None

I was a bit skeptical getting this type of cable, which needs to be high quality, from an online store that was unknown to me. However, based on previous ratings, I bought and both the cable and site performed admirably.

Component A/V Cable

Strengths: Works well with any TV fitted with component videos; dramatically improves video quality and color; durable cable and connections.

Weakness: Somewhat expensive - I bought it for $30.

I highly recommend this cable. It's a significant upgrade over the RCA cable that comes with the PS2 and makes every game clearer. By clearer, I mean that the text is more sharp in every game. There is also less of what I would call "crawl" displayed - letters seem to stay still and the pixels don't seem to move around. The colors are brighter and more brilliant, as well.

When I bought the cable, I was worried that I would only see benefits with a TV capable of displaying the PS2's progressive mode (HDTV-ready). I was completely wrong; you'll see improved image quality with any TV fitted with component video connections.

The cables themselves are durable. The connections on both the PS2 end and the TV end are tight and well-made. The cable is long enough for most entertainment center needs.

I've been using this cable for over 3 months with the new slimline Ps2 and it's been great. Highly recommended.

Nice upgrade!

Strengths: Outstanding color brilliance and smooth graphic detailing.

Weakness: None.

I connected this to a component switch box through my plasma display. The realism of graphics and gameplay is superb. If you haven't upgraded your game system to component video, then you are missing out.

Component A/V Cable

Strengths: -Provides better video quality.

Weakness: -Not a big improvement over the reguler RGB cables. -Pricey for aging type of cables.

If you're looking for the best video quality to get out of your games or DVDs for the Playstation 2 then you must get this. It's hard to tell but I watched The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen using this cable, and the video quality looked sharper. I would recommend for everyone to upgrade to this. The only bad things about it is that it seems like an expensive price for a 3-4 year old cable and it does not provide a huge difference between the RGB cables that normally come with the Playstation 2.
