Multitap

Strengths: Very Good Quality, Made by Sony.

Weakness: Expensive

This is a great item for anybody who wants to play with 4 people. This is a really nice, quality piece of equipment. Even though it is more expensive than a 3rd party one, it is worth the extra money. I had bought a third party brand one before I bought this and it died in a few weeks. I Love this Multitap!!

Works as advertised

Strengths: built well, easy to use

Weakness: nowhere to put it

We used our Playstation 2 for 3 years before we felt a need for a multi-tap. In other words, we don't feel this is a critical accessory. But my son and I are the gamers in the household so maybe we just never needed it with just two of us playing. 1 multitap allows you to hook up 5 PS2 contollers (4 to the multi-tap and one to the second controller port), or 2 multi-taps would allow 8 controllers - something I don't imagine anyone would ever need. (Of course the controllers are sold separately but they are the standard PS2 controllers.) The multi-tap fits in the slots for the controller AND the memory slot in the fron of the PS2. The multi-tap has four slots for memory cards in addition to the 4 slots for the controllers. Also be careful which multi-tap you buy because the ones available at most store these days only fit the slim (7000 series) PS2.

Of course with that many controllers everything is a jumble of wires. Also, if you have your PS2 on a shelf (like we do) there is no convenient place for the multi-tap to sit without dangling from the shelf - maybe at the side or on top - but in the heat of the game will probably end up dangling from the front anyway because it got pulled down.

It works and it is good Sony quality.
