Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: skateboard fans love it

Weakness: graphics not as good as new games

This game lets you control a character to do lots of skateboard exercises - the way you like! I personally do not skateboard at all, but I can still realize how difficult it is. It is amazing to see the guy can accomplish such an amazing move~!! Despite outdated graphics, this is a nice game for skateboarding fans.

Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: That great Tony Hawk gameplay, only more customization, more challenges and more combo goodness.

Weakness: No online play for the cube, still the same experience as 4, 3, and 2.

If this was not the five installment of the series, THUG would stand as a pillar of gaming. The luster of the Tony Hawk series has begun to dim, if only because even greatness can get old. That is not to say this is not a great game, it is and it is the BEST Tony Hawk game to date. But if you found yourself turned off by 4, this will not win you back.
With that disclaimer out of the way, there are many additions to keep Veterans excited without completely overwhelming new players. The biggest advantadge is the level of customization. In THUG, you create a skater, and bring that skater from unknown to superstar. Along the way you meet the familiar faces of past games, both the real life skaters and the Tony Hawk denizens who have just a small amount of unique attitude. The time limits no longer dominant the attainment of goals they once did, but they are still their in some instances. The multiplayer are great, but alas the cube does not get the same online support as its brethren versions and this is a shame. If you thoroughly dominated TH4, the difficulty level has been raised, and there are new tricks and abilities, the most unique of which is being able to get off your board and run around. This is disarming at first, and you almost have to shake off the previous mindset otherwise you never use it to link tricks.
Now that the price has dropped, this title is definitely worth picking up for someone itching for more Hawk or merely looking to test the water. But if online play is your bag, grind another system.

Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: It's the same fun from Tony Hawk 1-4 and more, good music

Weakness: Adds some originalness, but not much more

If you enjoyed the previous installments in the Tony Hawk Saga, you will enjoy this game. It adds a little more difficulty than the previous titles and some new features, such as being able to jump off your board and run around to complete missions.
It is based on the premise of you going from an unknown skater to a famous one.

Its a trick and combos type of game, boarding across telephone wires and the like. It's a game that will let you get your inner skateboarding monster out. Definitely recommended.

Tony Hawk Underground

Strengths: Excelent entry of the Tony Hawk franchise

Weakness: More of the same

What can be said about the Tony Hawk series? You are either a fan or simply not interested in the once-yearly iterations of this venerable franchise. While I find that the combo-driven aspect of these types of games is difficult and frustrating (and thus not fun) many people obviously feel differently. I prefer the Tony Hawk engine-based Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure myself.

The big additions for this version are the Story mode and "off the board" play where you run on foot and climb to reach areas you can't by skateboard.

If you are a fan of the series, this is definitely worth a play. If you've never played but are curious, this is certainly a good one to pick up, though there have been 2 more released since this one (THUG 2, and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland - THAW).
