Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Very fun game

Weakness: none

This is a great game to play by yourself or with friends. The driving speeds seem very fast and intense. The crashes are very fun as well. Overall, anyone can enjoy this, not just racing fans because it offers several different modes of play.

Best Racing game out

Strengths: The vehcels,missions, TAKEDOWNS,graphics,and sound

Weakness: The game is a bit compeditive, a bit to long

Burnout 3 takedown is a competetive game. Its either you take them out or they'll take you out. I would recommend you to buy this game. the game may take a while but it will be worth it. There's no story to this game but its pretty darn good. The multiplayer is very good. theres differnt types of multiplayer games.

Burnout 3: Takedown (Xbox)

Strengths: Great graphics and sounds, amazing gameplay, XBL multiplayer

Weakness: None apparent

Burnout 3 brings frantic arcade racer action to the Xbox. It's a mix of insanely fast racing and explosive crashing, all with amazing graphics, sound and action. Single player action is very well done, and the multiplayer is where it truly shines.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Insane sense of speed, graphics, customizable soundtrack, online competition.

Weakness: Fake cars (no license) but other then that, none really.

While the first two Burnouts were okay games, Criterion has done an excellent job reinvisioning the series for Takedown and bringing it up to speed. It's all about crashing in this game and how spectacular they are. That's basically how you win races, by crashing you earn points and speed. There's basically a bullet time mode where you can see all the wreckage in slow motion and the graphics really back up that sense of reality. The customizable soundtrack (thank goodness for the Xbox hard drive) will ensure you keep on playing this game forever since you will never tire of your own favorite tunes. I wish there were licensed cars but then again, car manufacturers probably would not endorse seeing their cars get demolished as they do in this game. It's a very entertaining arcade game that you can pick up and play at anytime. One of my best on the whim purchases.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Awesome new EA graphics! Shinier Cars! Bigger CRashes ( I didn't think they could get any bigger!) MOre Races across three countries! New play modes including multiplayer and Live modes!

Weakness: None.

You will not regret buying this game! This is the best racing trilogy I have ever played for any system, ever! This game is so huge, the races never end. There's more cars, and they're decked with the same graphics engine used on NFS: Underground. PLus you no longer have to wait for your boost meter to fill up fully to use it, you can takedown your opponents by ramming them into walls or traffic, and you can control your car after you crash, and it will explode if you get a crashbreaker. BUY THIS GAME!

One Of the Best Racers On Xbox.

Strengths: Lot's of cars and tracks to unlock.

Weakness: There are no Weaknesses.

Burnout 3 is one of the best racing games for Xbox. As far as racers go this is easily one of the best of 2004. The Burnout series has been improving with every game.

Graphics-10/10
The graphics are beautiful. The cars look great, as do the environments around them. When you crash your cars the doors fall off, windows break, hoods get messed up, and even the car itself looks bent.

Sound-8/10
The soundtrack in this game is hit and miss with a few good songs. You can play your own music in this game. What makes the sound have such a good score are the cars and the crashes- they are great.

Controls-10/10
The controls are pretty normal for racers, which means there good. Right Trigger is go, Left Trigger is brake, and A is boost.

Game play- 10/10
Another shining point in this game. In Burnout 3 its all about the crashes. There are plenty of fast cars to unlock, so this game will entertain you for a long while.

In this game you can get take downs. A take-down is when you ram your rival so he crashes into the wall or another car. You can get after-touch take-downs by crashing and then having other cars hit you. You can hit L1 after your crash to steer while wrecking into other cars. Take-down get you massive boost and points, which lead to new cars and other rewards.

There is a lot of game modes to play. There is a race, which is just a race, road rage where you goal is to get a certain number of take-downs, and crash where you object is to crash into an intersection and cause as much damage as possible. You can play these on-line as well.

Online
I do not have Xbox Live.

Bottom Line-10/10
Buy this game. Especially if you like racing or just wrecking cars.

WOW

Strengths: Speed, fun, online.

Weakness: Arcade feeling gets semi old after awhile. Still hours of gameplay.

Wow, what a great game! Imagine the perfect arcade racer WITH the ablitity to play on LIVE! and you have Burnout 3. Wicked fun game modes. Lots of variety. And while the cars arent real makes they are fun to collect (and then smash!) Burnout is the kind of game even non racers should try out. Great fun.

Electronic Arts Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Graphics, Action, Sound

Weakness: Not much of a driving sim, but who cares?

Electronic Arts Burnout 3: Takedown is the premier action racing game available for the Xbox. It brilliantly blends together driving, crashing, and strategy in one bold stroke. The single player and multiplayer are both brilliant. Highly recommended. A must own for any Xbox owner who likes good games.

Burnout 3

Strengths: pretty much no rules, great car selection

Weakness: absolutly no weaknesses

This game is the best racing game for the Xbox hands down.I like the fact that there are pretty much no rules. The cars they've provided for you to completely destroy are the best cars you could get in a street racing game. This is the only Burnout I have playedbut I would like to play the oldest ones and of course the newest one Burnout Revenge.I think that will be the best of than them all.

fast and furious

Strengths: extremely fun and fast, lots of gameplay

Weakness: cars always catch up to you

This game is an absolute blast to play, it goes so fast and needs lighting quick reactions to do well. Definitely an arcade racer, nothing too realistic about it, it manages to be a great time. Noting beats sending the car next to you into a pole as you swing past. One annoying thing is that no lead is ever safe, they always catch back up, but overall, its a great experience and the game is incredible.

The Best Arcade Racer on Xbox

Strengths: Amazing sense of speed, insane crashes, easy to get into, online play

Weakness: No licensed cars

Burnout 3 is without a doubt the best arcade style racer available for Xbox. The main game is basically split into two different modes: racing and crashing. The great thing about this game is that both modes are incredibly fun.

The sense of speed in the races is extremely fast, but the cars control really well, so you get the perfect feeling of just being on the edge of losing control. The racing is all about building up your boost by performing high risk manuevers. You then can strategically use your boost to out race your opponents. You also have the option of trying to take out your opponents which also increases your boost.

Crash mode is probably where you will spend a lot of your time and where the game attracts a lot of casual gamers. The whole goal in this mode is to cause as much destruction as possible. You are inserted into a scenario where there is a high traffic intersection and you must find the best way to wreck as many cars as possible. There are also bonus icons that you can hit to increase your score.

Overall, I'd say this is a must buy for just about everyone. It's pure fun in a box.

Burnout Baby!

Strengths: One of the best, if not the best, racing games ever made.

Weakness: None on the Xbox version

Burnout 3 Takedown is one of the best racing games you will ever play and is racing game of the year for 2004. Burnout 3 is not simply a great racing game but a game of MASS DESTRUCTION! That's right, the whole thrill of this racing game is the beautiful carnage that takes place on the road. In crash mode you must cause as much destruction as you can for a high score. The Xbox version of this game is basicly perfect. Not much really needs to be said about this game except that it is one of the greatest video games of our time. Burnout 3 Takedown is guaranteed fun and that's all there is to it. A++++

Vurbout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Graphics, sound, replay (slow-motion) modes, incredible crashes

Weakness: None

Burnout 3 is definitely the best of the Burnout series. The sense of speed in this game is tremendous as you maneuver your car on the road like a madman to gain points and boost. Your heart pumps as you drive into oncoming traffic and narrowly miss oncoming cars to gain points. The crashes (or demolitions) in this game are also horrendous, but fun at the same time. The game also rewards the player during the crash by changing to a slow motion mode, in which you can actually maneuver your car to crash into other obstacles, competitors, etc. I have not had more fun within a game than with this one.

This game was worth every penny I paid for it and now that it has become a greatest/platinum hit title, it is even more of a bargain. If there is one racing game you should purchase, this should be it.

Burnout 3

Strengths: Great graphics, insane amount of fun

Weakness: So fast that it's sometimes hard to keep track of, not realistic (If that's what you're after)

Burnout 3 is the most fun racing game I've ever played, period. While it's not realistic at all it's the most fun arcade racer I've ever seen. As you're tearing around at breakneck speed while everything zooms past you in a blur, you blink for half a second and slam into a wall. But not all is lost! You engage the slow motion, and tweak the crumpled wreck of your car into the racer behind you, buying yourself some time. It's moments like these that make Burnout 3 so thrilling. And not only racing, like in that example. Burnout 3 also has crashing as a game mode! That's right, you run over powerups and score boosts, and try to create the biggest wrecks you can. If you crash enough cars, you can fire your crashbreaker and explode, causing more damage.
If you're looking for a realistic racing game, look elsewhere. Otherwise, Burnout 3 is about the most fun you can have on an Xbox. Even better if you can get a friend over to play it splitscreen.

One of the finest games of this console generation...

Strengths: Ridiculously fun; Robust single-player with plenty to unlock; crowd-pleasing multiplayer; incredible XBOX Live experience; Custom soundtrack support makes this THE best version of Burnout 3 to own

Weakness: A lack of "instant replay" features - a "Madden"-style replay camera, along with the ability to save a replay to the hard drive, would have been great; Only 1 Player per XBOX for Live multiplayer

I am not really a fan of racing games. I never got into Ridge Racer. Project Gotham never caught my attention. Gran Tourismo bored me to tears. For most of my gaming life, I've just stuck to Mario Cart and old-school Outrun to get my racing fix.

So last year I start hearing about this "Burnout 3" game. According to the reviews it was incredible, and apparently you didn't even have to be a racing fan to enjoy it. My curiosity was piqued, and eventually I took a chance and bought the game.

All it took was one game of the "Road Rage" mode, and I was hooked. This game destroys the concept of the typical racing game. This is not about customizing your car, this is not about realism, this is not about attention to detail - Burnout 3 is about explosions, about smashing into things, about FUN!

You'll see all those principles at work in the aforementioned "Road Rage" mode. In Road Rage you are not trying to win a race. Rather, you are trying to destroy as many rival cars as possible, until time expires or you are destroyed yourself.

Then there are actual races. While more traditional in nature, the racing modes in Burnout 3 can be every bit as wild as a Road Rage event. You still get to smash cars, but with the added intensity of trying to finish in first place. You may be tempted to play it safe, but that strategy won't get you anywhere. Your only hope of staying ahead is to get plenty of "boost" energy, and you only get boost energy by driving AGGRESSIVELY. Going into oncoming traffic, barely skimming past a bus, drifting through a tight turn, and (of course) destroying other cars will reward you with the boost energy you need to win the race. It's a brilliant risk vs. reward mechanic that really gives a sense of exhiliration to each race.

Then there's Crash Mode, which could really have been marketed and sold as a whole seperate game altogether. On this mode you simply drive across a short stretch of road, find something to crash into, and then just try to cause the biggest, most spectacular, most financially damaging multi-car pile up that you can. After the initial crash, using Burnout's "aftertouch" feature, you can activate slow-motion and steer your wrecked car into traffic to keep the damage going as long as possible. This particular mode is one of the biggest crowd-pleasers I've seen in a while - gather some friends around for this one!

Finally, I should mention the XBOX Live functionality. You get to play the crash and racing modes online, of course. But the real surprise is the Online Road Rage. This actually ends up being quite different from the standard, offline version of Road Rage, and ends up feeling like a whole different game altogether. Human players are divided into a Blue team that races, and a Red team that chases. If you're Blue, your goal is to reach the finish line before being taken down. If you're Red, you are invincible - you're only purpose is to take down every member of the blue team. It only takes one Blue car to finish the race, but any blue car can be eliminated from a single takedown from a Red Car. An eliminated car then becomes a "ghost," passing through all non-player cars but still able to take down members of the Red team. So, while no longer eligible to win, a dead Blue car can still protect their surviving team mates, in hope that one will finish the race. This is a very team-oriented mode, and full voice-chat support further enhances the experience. Again, I can't emphasize this enough - this mode feels like a whole different game!

This game is simply spectacular, easily one of the best purchases I made in 2004. Tons of multiplayer modes will wow the crowds, and the intimidatingly large amount of unlockables will keep you coming back to the single-player modes (I only recently reached 50% completion... this game is huge!). Forget "best racing games," this is one of the best GAMES of this console generation, period.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Gameplay, Crashes, Graphics, Multiplayer Options

Weakness: Announcer, no license cars

Burnout 3 is pure arcade racing. This is one of the best arcade racer ever made. The speed of the cars is just ridiculous and the crashes are just insane.

There are also a variety of gameplay modes: racing, road rage, crash mode. Road rage is probably the most entertaining of the three. In road rage, your objective is to just knock out as many cars possible. This mode is just freekin awesome online, where you have a team is being the hunted and another team being the hunters. The hunted must finish their laps while the hunters tries to prevent them from doing that. There are several variations of the race mode: standard races, eliminations, and time trials. Crash mode on the otherhand allows you to race down a roadway and create as much chaos as possible. The more damage you cause, the better.

One of the drawback of this title is that the announcer is annoying as heck. But you can always turn him off. Also, if you have the Xbox version, you can rip your own tunes and play them while you play. In conclusion, this is the most entertaining and action-packed racer of all time.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Very realistic and amazing visuals. My favorite thing in the world is takedowns!

Weakness: So far, none, really. I really like the setup of this game, and is possibly the best racing game I've played to date.

I haven't made it very far in the game yet, mostly because I've had a whole line of games to play before this, but it's a great game. It's a lot of fun to play for a few hours at a time, and the nice thing is that since it is a racing game, you can just do a couple of races if you're looking to spend just ten minutes playing. The live is okay. It's fun, but considering the speed at which you unlock things on single player, it's definitely worth it to get some of that out of the way before you start taking on other racers.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Everything about the game was great. Well thoughtout ideas, no glitches (encountered so far), and a good overall presentation

Weakness: This game has literally no weaknesses...except for that some parts in the game can get challenging, just difficult, but not enough for frustration.

Gameplay- Awesome game, with simple menus, good-looking cars, and fastpace car racing. The game truly shines with its ability to create realistic car crashes, with every little detail put in, such as the odd twisting of the wheels, the dents on the sides, glass shattering, and the physics is remarkable.
The racing areas of the game are also very entertaining, as your adrenaline will be pumping as you and your rivals are driving very close to each other, trying to crash one another, at the same time following the race course and dodging incoming traffic. Just superior.
Plethora of game types: Racing to win a gold medal
1 vs 1 battles, where if you win, you receive a new car as a prize
Crash modes, to cause the most damage. More destruction = more rewards
Racing at its best, with realistic high speeds

Graphics- Very detailed and polished. Everything in the game has its own unique feel and appearance, and the shadows and lighting are great.

Sound- Rock music pounding in your ears will get you immersed into the game, and the quick pacing of the music with the racing will keep you wanting more.

9/10 Superb game, simple controls, fast speeds, an abundance of things to do. High replay value, especially with multiplayer.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Terribly fun.

Weakness: I truly can't think of any.

There are really two types of racing games: the realistic racer, with actual cars and the tuning thereof, and the arcade racer, which isn't limited to reality and puts fun above all else. Burnout 3, I'm happy to say, is firmly in the arcade category. You pick from real-ish cars, like coupes and sportscars and whatnot, and race them around the world against computer or human opponents. The Burnout series is mainly known for its spectacular crashes, which only cost you a few seconds in a race. If you cause an opponent to crash, you get some boost power. It all works very well. There's also a Crash mode, where you try to make the most impressive crash possible, and plenty of online modes that will keep you coming back well after you've mastered the single player portion.

If you like racing at all, you have to get this.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Incredible speed and crashes.

Definitely an addicting racer. The idea is to fly against and around traffic as you race against the competition. The kicker is that you smash into the competition and get a 'takedown' every time you make them crash. When you do that, you get a huge amount of boost. The crashes and speed make it something you just can't put down.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: The best sense of speed of any racing game ever made. This one is it! Thilling effects and crashes...wow!

Weakness: Xbox particle/sparks do not look as good as the PS2 particles/sparks. No controller customization.

This game has easy to learn and use controls that are very responsive. The sense of speed is second to none, no other racing games comes close, except Burnout 2! It is awesome watching the slow-motion crashes with "impact time", so much fun that poor drivers don't need to win to have fun! The in-game AI is good and they provide very little predictable behavior. The ability to customize the music and the smooth graphics make this game the best racing game on the Xbox.

Strengths: Best sensation of speed of any racing game. I have Developer's Cut as well but this takes it to the next level with it number of tracks and cars.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: lots of tracks; varying gameplay; online play; awesome graphics; super speed!

Weakness: cannot remained logged into XBL while playing solo.

i bought this game to pass the time until Forza is released, and i don't regret it one bit! this is a great arcade racer. if you don't get hung up on the lack of "realism" in driving dynamics, then you can sit back and enjoy the speed and the ridiculous crashes all the more. there are many tracks of varying styles and difficulties. the scenery is beautiful and the rendering is smooth as silk. it's sad that i can't stay logged into xbox live while playing solo, tho. so instead i signed up for xbox alerts on my mobile phone so that i can still get notified when my friends are on-line.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Blistering speed, spectacular crashes, solid controls, online play

Weakness: Terrible soundtrack

Each new Burnout game delivers a tighter, more complete package than its predecessor. With Burnout 3, you get the best crashes in the series (and perhaps the best anywhere), as well as a deeper crash mode and refined graphics. Of course, the racing is fantastic, and online play ups the ante. The only real blemish is the hideous music, but thankfully, the Xbox version lets you use your own tunes.

Burnout 3: Takedown

Strengths: Crash mode is insanely fun. Online play is smooth and addictive.

Weakness: World Tour mode can drag in later stages. Unlocking everything takes a lot of time and practice.

Burnout 3 is the latest game in the arcade racing/crashing series from Criterion Games. It tops the previous games in every way possible. If you haven't played any of the other games, I highly suggest you don't pass up this one.

The sense of speed and danger around every turn is intense. Racing through courses in USA, Europe, or Asia, you work your way through the World Tour to unlock cars, stages, and other bonuses. The crash stages are based on intersections from the racing tracks and offer a wide variety of situations. The addition of the crashbreaker and aftertouch takedowns adds more depth and strategy to the game.

All this is just a precursor to the best feature of this game: on-line play on Xbox Live. Play race or road rage modes with up to six players and crash with up to eight.

Overall, this is the best arcade racer on the Xbox. If you like your racing fast and edgy, then this is the game for you.
