The Nintendo DS Lite Black/Onyx is a great little console: my daughter uses it on car rides and while playing at home. The wireless inter-connectivity with her friends' Nintendo DS is EXCELLENT! It's built well and the games are great. I highly recommend this little machine!

Strengths: It can play gameboy advance games AND games only for Nintendo DS. It has a clock , calender, and a spot for your name which you can personalize along with your birthday, favorite color, and many more!
Weakness: It can only play gameboy advance games on one screen.
I got this system for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it! It is the best game system I have EVER owned. I highly encourage you to buy a Nintendo DS for either yourself or another.

DS Lite breaks early and Nintendo will not stand...
Strengths: Cute
Weakness: poor design promotes breakage that I found all over in the forums yet nintendo wants to charge $60-$75 fix this reoccuring very common issue while unit is under warranty.
Nintendo fails to stand by the warranty on their product. the Product has no other damage not even scratches. As far as I am concerned you need to think twice before buying from this company.

Strengths: It's small and lightwieght. screens are bright.
Weakness: Games are mainly for kids although there are a few adult related games. Screens are a little on the small side although that keeps the size down.
I had it for 2 months and did not use it very much. Already sold it to a relative for a nephew. Using the money I got for it on a PSP. More versatile.

Strengths: Small, bright screens, lots of available games
Weakness: Small screens, only one screen interactive, easy to scratch, misleading WiFi
This console is running both DS games but also AdvancedBoy games. Screens although too small are bright and clear enough.
Lots of games to chose from for kids and adults. Don't be misled, the games for kids even if they are supposed to be from 6 years old can be played by a 5 or even 4 years bright kid. Having in view the long battery life (5-7 hours) it is a good way to keep your kid busy in a long trip.
The black shiny surface will always look dirty and can be easily scratched. Buy a protective film for your screens otherwise they will get soon scratched (available in separate kits).
The volume in certain cases (in games where you need to understand what you are told) is a little too low and with a medium quality and you might need a pair of headsets.
Wi-Fi is only for playing with other consoles (don't think you are going to browse the internet - take a PSP for this) might be rather a hassle than a gain.
For its price, features and available games it is a very good buy. If you don't want it for small kids and you are willing to spend more money, then PSP might be a better choice.
