Strengths: ok graphics, somewhat entertaining, large selection of weapons
Weakness: load times, repetitive
First let me say that I'm not a big fan of squad based combat games, I'm more of a solo first person shooter fan - so take this review with that in mind.
Rainbow Six 3 is a squad based combat game where you not only control your own character from the first person perspective, you also give orders to up yo 3 squad mates. You play as an elite counter terrorist group sent in to save innocent people and take out the bad guys.
The missions (at least the early ones) all seem to be the same. You are always trying to rescue some hostages and take out the terrorists and that got repetitive for me.
The graphics on the PS2 are OK, but in dark scenes I do notice some tearing where two walls/floor/ceiling meet.
The game takes a while to load, and it saves the game at checkpoints which takes a while. That tends to hurt the immersive-ness of the game. Also, checkpoints during a mission are not saved permanently - therefore, you really have to get through a mission before you can turn off the PS2.
If you are a squad based combat fan and you can find this cheap, I would say pick it up. Otherwise, give this game a pass.

Strengths: + good AI
+ good controls
+ perfect difficulty
+ nice multiplayer
Weakness: - graphics
- simplistic commands
- somewhat linear, have a set path
Rainbow Six 3 is a great game. In this game you command a group through various terrorist preventing missions. Commanding your group is very easy with RS3's controls. However your commands to your group is limited. Mostly you command your group on where to go and how to open doors. In battle your group is also quite effective. Though you cannot rely on your groups strength alone. All and all this is a great game, that only has a few weaknesses.

Rainbow Six 3 is a decent game in which you command an elite group of Rainbow Six operatives to counteract various terrorist threats with minimal amount of attention and casualties. You can play through 14 specific missions in the game in either single player or online, co-op mode. Communication with team operatives can be done through voice-activated squad orders using a headset. The computer AI is pretty good.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 is another decent shooter game in which you are a member of a terrorism-counter taskforce to lead a team of operatives in a variety of missions. Gameplay is good and particularly the enemy AI is pretty intelligent. The only complain is the dated graphics and the excessive loading time.
I found this game to be lots of fun. The story and cinematic are very well done, however the in-game graphics to be limited and dated looking. The game levels are short and basic, however I found the game AI was very good, both the enemies and the squads to act reasonably well. I did not enjoy the on-line aspect of the game as it was difficult to get a game going, however it might not be the games shortcoming but the way the Playstation 2 does on-line gaming
Although nothing stands out as a strength or weakness, this game does have the special ops feel to it. The levels can be played in either single or co-op. You pick your primary gun, your secondary gun, your carry on, and start the level. Pretty straight up, point, shoot, kill. The beginning cinematic is worth the purchase price by itself. Great game if you like co-op FPS's

After a successful campaign on the PC and most recently on the Xbox, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 is hitting the PS2. The game does a fine job of offering up the same kind of team-based tactical shooting as its other incarnations, but unfortunately succumbs to a myriad of technical inadequacies, like muddy graphics, boggy framerates and long loading times. Also, the levels have been substantially...
