I play the mario party 1,2,3 and 4 and I think that mario party 5 is the best of the saga and is a very good option to buy and play whit your friends

mario party 5 is alot of fun

Strengths: everything is cool like minigames,boardgames and bonusgames

Weakness: I can't see anything bad about this game

mario party 5 is awsome!! nothing is bad about this game because it's one of my favourite games.Mario party 5 is way much better than mario party 6 my favourite character is yoshi I just knew that this game would be perfect! every minigame is cool but my favourite ones are triple jump,coney island,night light fright and many more...in super duel mode there are 2 secret weapons they are called: bowser punch and bomb omb wall.In story mode there is a secret intense mode just like brutal in mario party 6 and 7 but to unlock intense mode you need to clear story mode on the hard level.To unlock minigame decathlon you will need 10 minigames they are called: ground pound down,chomp romp,flower shower,leaf leap,night light fright,dinger derby,hydrostar,will flower,later skater and triple jump.To unlock bowser nightmare the boardgame you have to clear story mode on any level but the best thing to do is to put it on the easy level so it can be much easier to finish.

Strengths: Fun gameplay, lots of minigames

Weakness: Not much fun if you aren't playing multiplayer, no Donkey Kong

Mario Party 5 is the fifth installment of the board game based Mario game. This version offers a ton of new mini-games and just about all of them are a blast to play. I think the boards are a lot more interesting than the ones in the last game because they are much larger and there is a lot more interaction. I think this game captures the magic of the older versions much better and it adds the new capsule system as well. This game is a blast to play with four people and everyone should have at least one Mario Party game for the Gamecube. Based on the three that have come out so far, I would suggest picking up Mario Party 5.

Strengths: Great Multi-Player Fun

Weakness: Single Player is short and not as much fun

Mario Party 5 for the GameCube adds to the tradition of fun multiplayer mini games that has made Mario Party series such a hit. The game offers 5 different modes -Party, Story, Mini Game, Bonus, and Super Duel - all of which have their own strengths.

Single player game is short and frankly not that much fun. This is a great party or family game for kids of all ages as its easy to pick up and the games are short. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun, family friendly game for the GameCube.

Mario Party 5

Strengths: Great multiplayer game, smooth game play, easy to play, mini-games

Weakness: Short single player version, similar to previous versions of the game

Just as the title indicates, this is a party game. Great for all ages, this game pits members of the Mushroom Kingdom (Mario, Luigi, Wario, Princess Peach, etc.) against each other in a board-game setting. Players take turns rolling dice to move around the board to collect coins which enable the player to buy stars. The player with the most stars at the end of the game is the winner.
Coins are obtained through landing on spaces and different mini-games, in which opponents compete against each other in various tasks. It is very similar to earlier games of the series.
Overall, this game is just plain fun when played with multiple people. Single player is available, but it certainly is not as much fun playing against the CPU.

Strengths: Great multiplayer fun for the whole family, new mini games.

Weakness: More of the same, too "kiddy" for some, single player is boring, the loss of Donkey Kong as a playable character.

Although the Mario Party franchise has been panned by the critics, Nintendo must be doing something right because fans keep lapping up the sequels year after year - it has been a virtual cashcow for them, along the lines of Pokemon. I personally liked Mario Party 4 better, which featured more 2 versus 2 mini games that focused on teamwork; however, Mario Party 5 is an excellent sequel to the series. The graphics continue to improve and the boards keep getting bigger and more creative. I thought collecting the capsules for power-ups took too long and there should have been a more efficient way to have done this. While the new games are fun, I wish we had access to some of the older mini games from the past games. Too bad Nintendo still refuses to put together a Mario Party compilation or better yet, a new ultra super Mario Party with all the minigames into one sequel. While I don't think you need to purchase a new Mario Party game every year, you should at least have one in your library. You can't go wrong with Mario Party 5, it's the ultimate party game (be sure you have some friends over otherwise you will get bored to tears).

Strengths: Has new gameboards to choose from and new mini games.

Weakness: none

Great game to play with friends and family. Has new fun and interesting capsules. No complains, just awesome. The single player mode is difficult to complete since the computer is hard even on the easy setting.

Mario Party 5

Strengths: New mini games, game boards, a bonus mode, and a duel mode.

Weakness: None.

I love the new modes Nintendo has put in. The duel mode is like a version of battle bots with a Nintendo twist. The bonus mode is my favorite, with a card game, a volleyball game, and a hockey game. I just love the volleyball and hockey games! They are truly addicting!!

Strengths: Five diferent modes--Party, Story, Mini Game, Bonus, and Super Duel.

Weakness: Party Mode not much fun to play against computer.

With five diferent modes--Party, Story, Mini Game, Bonus, and Super Duel-- it's perferct for almost every occasion, party or boredom! The controls are thoroughly explained at the beginning of each mini game and are simple and well-thought. We will now explain each mode with detail.

Party Mode:
Rules are easy: Whoever has the most stars at the end wins! To get stars, you need to win coins in Mini Games. Happening spaces do exciting things, and theres a lot more than that.

Story Mode:
Fight against Bowser's new Koopa Kids. If they have any coins or stars by the end of the game, you're done for!

Mini Game Mode:
Choose your way-- Free Play, Mini Game Battles, Mini Game Circuits, Mini Game Decathalon, Mini Game Wars, or a Mini Game Tournament! Fun!

Super Duel Mode:
Buy parts, create battle machine, fight! Sounds cool? Better than that!

Bonus Mode:
Move around the game board looking for the coveted star cards. Kind of random, yet fun! (still better than most games)

Mario Party 5

Fun and addicting.The best installment yet. New modes and cool new gameplay. Donkey Kong is gone though which sucks. But otherwise a great game. A must buy.

Strengths: One of Best multiplayer games ever crazy minigames best Mario Party Capsules!!!!

Weakness: Boring Boards No DK Super Duel Mode is boring

Wow! That is all I could say when I opened it up on Christmas. I thought it was going to be the exact same as MP4, but everything is different. The boards are now boring, but you get capsules, which makes the game extremely weird. The games are also awesome, for example, Night Light Fright. You are looking forward, and a chain chomp tries to eat you. The object is to make it stop as close to you as possible. But anyways, this game is a must buy.

Fun.

I have yet to fully play this one yet, so I am only going by past experience with the older titles. I hope the editors will still accept this, as I will update it when I actually finish.

Strengths: A LOT OF FUN if you have a bunch of friends over...

Weakness: Playing without other humans and against the computer is not much fun.

Mario Party 5 is not just an update, it is a good improvement comparing to Mario Party 4:
the Boards are bigger and much more adventurous, the capsules system works really well, the new minigames are great: clever and crazy and the Duel Event makes the game always exciting and uncertain until the very end.
Nintendo put a lot of effort in offering several play modes (including Single player) but the Party Mode is where, most likely, you and your friends are going to spend most of the time having a blast.
Briefly, if you have friends you can play with: don`t miss it! Even not videogame lovers will have fun with this!
If you are a loner, I would say to pass it because the single player mode won`t keep you interested for long enough.

Strengths: large range of mini-games, there are wide variety of modes: story-mode, party-mode, mini-game-mode, options-mode, extra-mode, duel-mode........

Weakness: some mini-games are just plain complicated, limited characters, in duel-mode, you have to get enough points from mini-games to buy certain body-parts of your machine.

Another one of Nintendo's fabulous mario-parties. The mini-games are good, and the board maps are way better than mario-party 4. Fair gaming experience. Definitely recommended from me.

Call it social intercourse for gamers, because that's exactly what the Mario Party formula is all about -- even if that's kind of a kinky definition. Friends gather, tantrums are thrown, threats are tossed, beers are often spilled on the carpet, and everyone thinks they are the big, bad boss at the end, no matter who actually acquired the most sparkling stars.
